Default What heli next for me?

I have been on again and off again with the nano and mcpx, and now I'm on. Between the job and family there is just not a ton of time to really get 3D etc, but I want to get better and I love flying when I can. I can fly around my house ok and will get better.

When the weather gets warmer (CT) I want to go outside more with something bigger. It would ge great to get a 450 or build one but realistically I couldn't get to an airfield or park to really fly much. My yard is decent though and I think I have a nice 1/4 acre or so in my front yard (1/2 overall) to fly where it's enclosed by trees. I guess my question is should i go for the blade 130 or 300? Or something else?

Thanks!

PS - this thing is great. I just nailed a lamp and no damage to the nano or it!

The 130x is my outdoor heli. I love it because I can just step out the front door and start flying!

Given the size of your yard, I'd get a 130x because you can fly it there and if you decide to take it to a field, it'll be able to hold it's own there too. I live on a cul-de-sac with about 1/4 acre and my 130x is just the right size. Anything larger would be way too big, especially for my skills.

130x is the biggest you gonna want to fly and it can still cause dmg... be careful you don't injure someone or their pet and end up paying the rest of your life.

I have a 120' square field and the 130 is about right if bit a hair big. Well I have trouble keeping it in that space when tryng new things.

I agree on the 130x. Good heli for that size yard. However, if any of you are worried about injuries, then you really should get an AMA membership. One of the greatest benefits is the accident insurance you get with it. Don't leave home without it... ;-)

I went from mcpx to nano to 300x. Flew the 300 for the first time today, and now that I'm less intimidated by it flipped it once and practiced hover..I love it. I did the full rkh upgrade on the nano and have yet to fly it. Maybe tomorrow

Default Hello

I love my 130 and my 300 X. Get the 130 if you want to push yourself. Get the 300 if you will be more careful.

I fly my 300 in my front yard, check it out

Since the 450 is under 2 lbs., I believe you can get away with the park flyer membership.

Is that what most people get for flying smaller heli's? I can get the full if it's better because of insurance etc.?

Thanks!

I'm not sure what most people do. I have the full membership since I fly a Gaui X5 and a .60 size plane.
