Default 8FG smaller profile switch dress nuts?

Hi all,

I wonder if anyone can advise me?

The dress nuts on the top switches on the stock 8FG are to big and I can't get my fingers comfortably between them. I was going to try these as an alternative lower profile nut, if they will fit. Can anyone confirm? Futaba part number Y-S27040

Thanks

I know-of a few guys that have done this (switching to the lower-profile switch-nut) for the very same reason.

I believe they were actually taking the low-profile switch-nut(s) from their RealFlight Simulator controller to use on the TX. they were Flying with so, if you have one-of these you may be able to just switch a few out

If not, and you need to order a few,
As far as I know there is no-difference in the thread-size(s) between the (2) different types of switch-nuts (tall / short).

O.K. thanks Dude, I use Phoenix rather that Real Flight, so I don't have one of their Tx's to steal them from, BUT, I do have a old 6EX Tx up my Mum and Dad's attic that I'll get back and try the switch nuts from that, see if they will fit.

I'd like to use a proper too, to remove the nuts, but I can't seem to find one available to buy separately. I guess I'll try turning them out with some needle nose tweezers.

I e-mailed Futaba support on Monday about this, but no reply so far. Hopefuly I'll get a reply soon.

I did exchange the ones that I had on my DX7 and DX8 TX.' with the ones that Big-Sky CNC makes.
The kit that they come-in has a small-tool specifically-designed to help get the nuts off-and-on but, I found that the small-tweezers that came in my T-Rex 250 Heli-kit work best.

To me it looks like the Futaba switch-nuts are a little-easier to access for removal (and install).
It looks like the small machined-area where you would use the tool (or tweezers) opens-up all the way to the outside-edge (or close to it).
I found it easier to lay the widest-section of the tweezers (that I could fit) into the machined opening (only on one-side of the nut), then gently turn the nut while keeping the tweezers from slipping.

Put a piece-of tape on the switch-arm itself prior-to removing the nut, this way the switch cannot fall-inside the TX.' housing
