i remember i would love to see pics ( even though i no longer have my Cypher ) put the pics here: https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=229253 you could also start a thread here : https://www.helifreak.com/forumdisplay.php?f=230 when you try the 4 blade set up again . I must be honest, since i got my new Harley a few months back i havent really been doing alot of flyin .. maybe 20 packs total in the last 3 months . after snapping my thumb in half , it got a bit frustrating to work on a broken heli so i didnt want to take any chances.. then came the bike i did get one good flight in and did some flips.. learned the hard way that the heli does NOT like to land hard on the head so now i'm down to one heli and a bunch of spare parts life goes on......

Well I got a single flight right at dark. It was calm, cool and I was all charged up. All I could really do was hover in the twilight, but the rotors were spinning .
I have had the issue with tanks of 100% oxygen in the house. Really have to watch the flames and most types of oils. Oil well ignite when you put it in pure O2. But other then working, taking care of Mom, not much time for flying. Dru. |

Well I broke down and ordered some 3D foam planes. I only wanted one of them but when i figured in the shipping, if I got all three it was free shipping so it was like getting the 3rd one for $5.00.

Well I have a few flights on my new foamy planes. I fly alone so it now looks like I am typing to my self.
So, I thought of this video [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f67yj-mf0AM&feature=related[/ame] If he can dance with him self, I can type to my self. Also ordered a new radio. It is a Fly Sky 9X from leaders hobbies. This place is the only one who has them in stock on a regular basis. Now, why would I want an $89.00 ( to the door) 9 channel radio when I have (2) RDS8000's? https://www.leaderhobby.com/product....=9394001220239 That my good sir is a great question. I was getting frustrated that I was putting $100.00 8 channel Rx's in to my $40.00 ready to fly foam planes. It just killed me to use the really great stuff on the ultra cheap stuff. The 6 channel Rx's for this radio are $9.00. That oes right with the cost of the planes. See, I am spending $9.50 on an ESC, $7.70 on a 9 gram digital metal gear servo, $3.50 for 5 gram servos, $3.09 on batteries. So you can see the $9.00 Rx's fit with the cost of the foam planes. This radio will not be used on anything that I want to keep around. Dru. |

Kevin, as you know from me being on this thread about helicopters, I am not worried about spending money. Helicopters are a 1000hp vacuum cleaner to you bank account.
I have planes from the ones I listed, gliders, nitro, gas, electric planes. I have a bunch of them. Kevin list of what I have for the foamy plane. Plane http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=16623 Servo's (4) http://www.hobbypartz.com/kahaoubrmo11.html Batteries http://www.hobbypartz.com/98p-25c-450-2s1p.html ESC http://www.hobbypartz.com/60p-dye-1014-12a-esc.html The plane comes with a good motor so that is covered. Kevin, if you fly Spectrum, they have the ULTRA budget priced Rx's http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...Sat_Port_.html [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tiUsRl-CEro[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9B3Sb2EIOw&feature=relmfu[/ame] Kevin, let me know if you need anything. This one is for the guys who complain about flying in the heat (or that the stock ESC in the Cypher 3D overheats)!
Here is a picture of my Cypher 3D (with the stock motor and ESC) hovering in front of our local fire department's digital sign. The temperature is accurate! This was at 1540 on 8/25/11 in Topock, AZ. ALERT! Excessive Heat Warning. Dangerous heat index. Outdoor exposure should be limited. I fly all the time in 100+ temps with the stock ESC. I think the trick is to trim the heat shrink off BOTH sides (to expose the heat-sinks) and mount it in a high airflow area. I have never had a problem with this ESC overheating. I suppose it doesn't matter anyway... who besides me even flies the Cypher anymore? |

Crypto, how can YOU even stand to be out in that heat? , forget about if the Cypher can handle it.. I'D MELT ! though it's nice to see the Cypher holds up well

Rough day at the field yesterday. Damn it was hot, at least for me. It was 104 in the shade and about 120 or so on the runway. Now I used to work outdoors in that stuff and not have much of a problem with it. Now I am such a wimp, I am hurting big time.
We had some really good flights though. We launched gliders from our (2) glider tugs. We mound a cradle on top of the plane, then mount the glider to the cradle. We take off climb until they are dots, release the glider and have a 40 plus minute glider flight. We had a major catastrophe yesterday. On one of the flights, the cradle broke loose from the tug, so the glider and cradle were together trying to glide. Well the glider weighs in at just under 4 pounds, then you add a 2 plus pound cradle with all of the drag it was a 2 pound parachute. I almost did not get my glider back. Full up, it would not hold level flight. As I was fighting my glider my brother was just watching his plane do circles and climbing. When the cradle tore off, the servo connection pulled out and took out the radio, so all we could do is watch it climb and fly away. We figure it unplugged another connection, tore something or shorted out the battery. Either way, no power to the Rx. He lost everything but the transmitter. We packed up and they went in the direction we last saw it but it was headed out to the barren hills. Not really any chance to find it. It was hot enough out there to melt and crinkle the black plastic windshield on one of my planes. It turned the plastic into a shrinky dink. I drank almost 2 gallons of water, gator aide and was still low on water I can not believe I used to work in temps in the 120's out side hanging doors. Damn I was tough. Happy flying and sweating Dru. |

I may be interested in your Cyphers for sale. Are they new? if not what condition are they in? And is there still a good place to get parts for this heli? Thanks, Chris.

Hello,
MNHobbies on eBay is also selling all the Cypher parts. Search for ''' EF Cypher ''' on eBay and you will get the entire parts list. On a side note, I just switched from Spektrum (DX7) to Airtronics. I bought an SD-10G and a 6-channel FHSS-3 RX. My 94809 servos should be here tomorrow. I just received new sideframes from Ron's (some of my servo mounting holes were stripped), and am planning a complete Cypher overhaul with all the new gear. I am also going to switch from my Logictech gyro to a Spartan Quark. I really wanted to like the Logictech, but I just could never get it to hold right. Maybe I'll give it one last shot with the new radio... Hmm. Anyone else doing anything with their Cyphers? J |

Airtronics 94802 are smaller and probably fit this small airframe better, which is what I used.
