ok, so I get that now

the data in the log , is what your saying is bogus

I agree,

I'm gona take a breather from this, this is spiraling off one post , and I don't think its related.

hopefully you don't interpert it as me saying something bad about the sk.

but I guess its open to interpretation, and that's where the issue is, if its not clear ask me.

The plot you're looking at is a fourier analysis. It tells you something about the height, frequency and shape of the vibration waves, not the amount of acceleration. The accelerometers are just the instrument that is measuring the vibration.

By analogy, a fourier analysis tells you about the height, shape and frequency of the waves on the lake, it doesn't tell you how high the lake is above sea level. You're measuring a "lake" with very violent waves on it.

The question is whether the sensor is reading correctly and your helicopter really is shaking like a washing machine, or the sensors are off.

=] never ever questioned the validity of your logs, just the content they show, really if there were something wrong with the SK I would post a sticky saying so, like DONT FLY THIS THING,

this happened with a 2.0 rev tail issue poll where over 50% of pilots had issues, mine was grounded, I couldn't fly on that rev. it was crap I will say so and didn't pretend otherwise!! we got the fix!

don't worry the helis with the units are grounded, I drained my packs down for strorage ,

but that was on the ground.

packled,

actually any axis would do ,let's say z , car with a mass of 3000 lbs
a simple calcualtion of any axis would do , just looking for the acelleration equal to the let's

say 50 m/s^2 same as the graph, single axis, let's leave gravity (9.807)out too.

how ever you could go as complex as you like.

fun as it may sound its not important, but if your a bored have at it.

A car crash is rather complex but for sinplistic example decellerating from 50m/s to 0 in 1s would give your 50m/s^2 deceleration although more reasonable in the real world is going from 5m\s to 0 in 0.1s. 5m/s is about 11mph so its likely equal to an impact at that kind of speed.

Keep in mind that you can get the same speed by dropping something from approximately half a meter above the ground.

Is not the magnitude scale in "G" rather than ms^-2? so a 50 on that scale would be 50G (or very roughly a drop from 5m on to a hard surface).

It's the other way around, DS. 50 ms^-2 is about 5 g, not 500.

its just for fun, and to have a refrence of what the numbers on the scale are.

we did a lot of problems like this in my electromechanics class, let's oof head aches.

good news is that I got my patch today, its nothing new, same rev as everyone else.

thanks art,

well, its good news

I didn't need anything more than a fix/patch.

just to stop or prevent what was affecting my accelerometers.

I will fly it very carfully, after I've flown it around a good 30 flights and if the unit works

fine, the acellerometers are happy I'm good to go.

What gave you this impression, Fusion, did I let slip something?

Take your time, buddy, no pressure at all

So back to the topic: lights, camera, action!

hmm how do i go about this??

well it flew ok, no crashes. i got in about 4 flights then it started raining.

i got some video , and i just looked at the logs. i did a few high speed passes , so when i saw a acceleration of 36m/s^2 i didnt think too much of it.

then i ran the playback side by side, and the heli is just sitting there, im going into a front loop, but its pretty slow, i guess ill send it over to art, i dont think the patch worked.

heres the video , pretty uneventful, besides the constant drift in sl, in diffrent directions
sometimes left, sometimes back

Actually, just from that screenshot of a plot I can see that the accel patch is working for this flight.

Drift in SL in different directions is most likely just wind gusts, it's hard to tell otherwise unless conditions are very calm.
