Default Got the WR Herc BEC Pro!

It's massive, but I already knew it would be.

I'm trying to shoe horn it on the to gyro plate next to the VBar mini and had a question - does the VBar need to be inline with the main shaft? I know it has to be 90 deg to it but can't seem to find an definitive answer.

If it does then I'll probably make up some double plate system.

Nope. All that matters is that it's mounted squarely.

My buddy is running the pro on his gobby 630. It's well built and works very well thus far. He's wired it up off a single 6s for safety reasons but working out well.

If you wire to only one pack make sure it's the ESC's Negative line.
If not you have a floating ground and risk everything going poof

I'm going to wire it up for the full 12s it's rated up to 18s. Given it's not a castle I'm not concerned.

I should point out my title is wrong - I have the WR Herc Super BEC Pro. Pew pew.

I would wire it to one of the two 6S packs (all of mine are set up this way).

I would not mount it close to the FBL unit or a receiver.

Make sure that you use both of the output leads (so that you can get 10 amps continuous to the FBL unit) or, better still, take advantage of the bus configuration (wires from the FBL unit in, wires to the servos out).

It needs to be mounted where air can flow over it.

Mine (previous version) is on the side of my 7HV, beneath the canopy edge so that it has plenty of airflow.

Think you're talking about a different bec there.

Anyway it's fitted. Pretty much the only place I could without doing the double decker.

It's fixed in place with 3m tape and a zip tie for good measure. Wired in for 12s and puts out 8.2v to each servo. My telemetry measured a .1v sag which was better than the 2s lipo sag of 3.4v previously.

Neat wiring Ian!

That is the one I was talking about, though.

It can be wired using the internal bus, or can be wired in a similar fashion to the original WR Hercules Super BEC.

Again, nice work, sir!

Really? Interesting. Didn't even know. I really liked the idea of offloading the power requirements to the BEC rather than the power bus of the FBL unit.

It was a mission soldering it all and then routing the wires. I also shortened the wires from the BEC to the FBL. Surprisingly it is tidier now even though it has more wires

Got to say though having a constant 8.2v the servos (ServoKings) are spankin. Will have to be careful not to break stuff when doing "crf69 violent syle" moves.

"Will have to be careful not to break stuff when doing "crf69 violent style" moves."

Yes, crf69 is a bad influence and a role model!
