Default Tail unit for 90E-class tuned Outrage 550

So, after long time of waiting, I modified the tail part of my 550.

Standard tail was too week for stressing by 105mm tail blades. 2 times I got bolts pulled out of the tail case, with damaging of the heli. At least, I chose this tail unit for making the new tail.

Originally, it was aimed for tune of Tirex 600.
To tell the true, the inner diameter of this tail unit was a little bit too big for Velocity boom (+0,7mm), but I found no alternative - the problem was sold, by using a small part of old tail boom, mounted between the case and the boom.

As far, as I used MIKADO 730 belt for stretching, I didnt have a possibility to use an Outrage tail shaft - the gear was too narrow. So, got it from Raptor 50.

The second thing I did - disassemble the tail case, and rotated the side parts with bearing outside. So, I got enough space for rather wide tail shaft gear.

To fit it tightly in the case, I was to made some small washers, from brass tubes.

I drilled also couple of apertures for additional bearings, holding tail belt, as far, as Mikados belt is really soft, and like to run out from its place. I used 2 pieces of 10x3x4 bearings, and couple of brass tubes to fix them in place.
Every tube in this tail, I was to drill inside and cat according to dimensions needed. Really, it took plenty of time. Thanks to drilling machine ))

So, for tail rotor controlling I chose Align control arm (metal). But its bracket was too week. So, I have to make it stronger. As far, as I had no CNC machine, I just used a part of blade grip arm. I drilled it inside, and attach to tail case side part. Then, assemble it with standard bracket to one piece with an additional bolt.

Blade grips I used from Quick UK, tail pitch slider was used from Raptor, as far, as it have zero backlash, and its arms have an angle I needed.

So, you can see, what I ve got on photos. Any remarks are welcome
PS First flight will be in 2 days.

Great, really.
After I have tried 665 mm blades, have no wish to fly on 600 mm. Awaiting for Velocity 90E - am a little bit tired from modifying

What was made:
V50 boom, main rotor grips and swash plate, Mikados belt
V50 main gear 0,7 mod mounting with motor gear (nitro version) installation,
Main frame adjustment for 10S 4000 battery mounting,
New threads (M4 instead of M3) on elevator control arms, elevator control shaft modifying,
Aluminium tail support rods from JR 90-class, tail push rod extension
Raptors V50 29 gram paddles, 400 - mm flybar rod, Quick UK landing gear,
Completely new tail part now... and that's all

Just keep an eye on them bearings. Now since you flipped the sides there is nothning holding them in place, except for maybe some loctite bearing retainer?!
