Default Hobbyking Quanum DIY FPV goggle kit review and hints/tips

I ordered a set of these when I saw them announced, and have put a quick review video up, I think at this price they are so cheap that everyone should have a set for spares/passenger rides.

Quanum DIY FPV Goggle kit review Hobbyking cheapest video goggles ever ? (5 min 50 sec)

Thank you for this posting, sir. I just moved my bits from an F450 to a TBS Discovery frame and ordered a low cost camera, transmitter, receiver, etc. which just arrived. I'd planned to use an old PC monitor for viewing but alas, no composite video input on the monitor. Since monitors generally get negative reviews here and on other sites, and since my poor bride is suffering from my increasingly expensive obsession with flying craft, I decided to go for the HK goggles. This was in large part due to your video. My expectations for video quality are low due to the fact that I've invested about $100 in the whole FPV setup. ($30 camera, $40 transmitter/receiver and $30 goggles). I saw somewhere else that a person used rare earth magnets to attach the goggle's case together to allow easy disassembly and I'll likely do the same. If everything looks good on my quad I may consider installing FPV on a larger heli, such as a Trex 500. Anyway, thanks for your effort.

I'm very happy with my set. The fatsharks do have a better quality display, but it's small and the goggles give me a headache over time since.

I want to build another set with a better quality video screen. I also just ordered an arduino and sensor to add head tracking to it. The plan is to put a FrSky TX module and 5.8 Ghx video RX on it to allow for wireless head tracking and video.
