your tail is about 2x too fast. slow it way down and work on half flips only. When you get those controlled and consistant then start working on multiple piros per flip.

thanks raza..
I tried to.. but naturally my finger want to go to the end.. just a thought.. i might slow down the piro rate on my tail.. so even the hand want to go to the end.. the tail will not spin that fast..

thats pretty much what I do. my max piro rate is about 400 degrees per second. or about 7 or so seconds for 10 rotations (this is how I measure my real ones)

Here's a flight I did yesterday, not a particularly good one, doesn't have a lot of manoeuvres really, but I kinda like the 4 point tic-toc, it was one of the more decent ones I did lately.

Here's a few of my warmup flight that I do, religiously, before doing harder 3d's.
I don't show this, but I "always" start non-inverted, first. You don't want to see that part...boring. Anyways, you should notice: 1.) I am doing 4x circuits. a.) forward b.) sideways nose-down funnel turns c.) backwards am doing only CW turns d.) sideways tail-down funnel turns 2.) Each circuit turns 4 times in CW direction, only!!! This repetition of CW turning direction(even when changing heli orientation) make stick movement common/easy/instinctive. Try it yourself. You will find that the RUDDER direction is in the same for all 4x orientations. So, you really only need to concentrate on the right stick for elev/ail control on this drill. Next, I would do another 4x circuits, but with CCW turns. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZ5z2OSE9rA&hd=1[/ame] Last edited by slamdance; 12-03-2010 at 12:46 AM.. |

This "E" pattern is my next warm-up. It requires you to "alternate" CW and CCW turns. So, don't try this until you've mastered the "T" pattern. You're thumbs must absolutely know exactly what to do when it comes time to turn.

I have to make a comment, this is one intense heli bootcamp. I like it. Do you do this "everytime" before any 3D flights? Please posts more vids.

Here's mine... I've started working on piroflips shortly after RaZa's video was posted. I half piros and full piros down relatively well, but when I started working on the double piro flips, it became apparent that I needed to work on my stationary piros so I'd have better control.
Here's where I'm at so far...

same here. I'm working on my "slow" stationary piros for me that seems to be the foundation of piro manouvers. Once I master that, then I'll try to progress to circle piros, then inverted piros.

Here's another flight from me from yesterday. This time I've been practicing some half piroflips, not continous, not comfortable enough for that yet. There's also a new move (new as in new for me) I just started practicing, which is a wall with a quick half piro (followed by another half piro while pushing away). I botched one of those, resulted in an uncomfortable moment.

Nice flight Iron I am aspiring to that sort of flight ability at this time. I'm working on it. Your flight shows a fair amount of confidence, I do believe that is an important factor. Thanks for sharing
