Any Xxtreme teething problems?
Are there any know issues with the Xxtreme? One thing I noticed, and I'm not sure if this is a problem, is some Xxtremes tends to have, for lack of a better word, a "kick" on spool up. I've seen some YouTube videos of pilots hand cranking the blades before spool up. Is this an ESC problem or perhaps the blades are tight enough?
Here's an example: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Q7yn2ImDhs[/ame] |

Not an esc problem or an xx problem its a v bar gov problem. Mr Mel has a post on how to make it better.

The extreeme hasn't had much in the way of teething.
I guess it stems from all the delays in production and delivery that occured. You will find that people are prespinning the baldes to help with the inital startup kick that occurs. It could be a number of things (IMO) - first 3d heli with 813 blades - firing a 3 phase motor still takes a bit of juice to get going. (speaking as an electrican by trade , i'm quite impressed on the slow starts we get.( Variable freqency drives are super pricey) - govenor coming on a bit to hard (and can be adjusted as per mrmels vid) Now it could be a vbar YGE combo thing. I'm like the rest , just totally spoiled with the jive govenor and smooth as butter softstart. Sure we cry a bit when we have to pay for them , but they sure put a smile on your face when in operation. Only true test is going to be when kontronics coughs up there kosmic esc's. Will they be butter smooth like a jive ? If they are then i'm sure i'll take a box of kleenex to the hobby shop and get one. I dropped my epa to - 116 and it starts much better now. I get about a 12" kick at the tail on startup. I'm going to see if i can get it better though. Martin

I think the best way and easy way of avoiding this it to screw the blades harder.

I hand spin the mains prior to start and have the mains screwed tight.
Tail bevel gear mesh can vary and boom gear might be able to "pop" out less than a mm There was a problem with the first swash. The first canopy had a better clear coat finish. I've had problems with the tail pitch slider binding. It manifests as a slow side to side tail movement that gets longer and slower. I've hand polished the tail shaft/brass bush but it needs regular lubing. In contrast, I rarely lube my Logo 400. I've had problems with the Vbar gov (All documented on the Xxtreme forum) and now I fly with the YGE gov. Not a "fix", just a work around but confidence is back in the heli. Mikado have been excellent in after sales service in regards to trying to sort out this problem. It's an awesome heli that always draws a crowd and flies fantastisc. Can't wait for the SE. I'd love to try some 913mm blades at 1400-1500 HS
