So if you lowered it down to say 2200 would it still cut out??
I think he said 60% of the max PWM rate correct? I'm not sure how that correlates to the throttle % in the radio....

but those quick stabs on a high headspeed like 2340 and +-13.5 collective shuts it down every single time.
Do you own a ProgCard II or ProgDisc?

Lower P of the Gov a bit.

So that's gov gain. What about PWM and how Throttle % relates to Gov headroom?

There are things you can do with Program Cards that can help.
Smooth + - Eliminates how harsh the Gov is.
PGain - I never messed with this one,

Maybe what DL7UAE is thinking is reducing the Gain is going to reduce the amp spikes, which makes sense. Smooth + has a similar effect.

I was thinking lower headspeed would be less amp draw, and the Jive can handle lower throttle %.

I think if you get 2 program cards it's like $50, The Prog Disk is like $125. If you ever went HeliJive or Koby you would want the Prog Disk.

I've been following this thread, and I keep coming to the conclusion that the 10kW motor must pull over 200 amps during the flight at some point. Kontronik is self-protective to power down before spitting flames. It seems we simply must have a larger ESC to run these motors with any extent of reliability. We can certainly reduce the headspeed, pitch, etc to reduce the loading, but that defeats the purpose of a crazy motor. ESC's aren't ready to play at that level yet, IMO. Maybe I don't know enough about the load transients and other technical details to be correct, but it's affecting my decisions about motors for 700's.

I agree with Rob, this is why i do not go for crazy RPM and pitch together, the jive esc cannot really handle it in 3D as the micro spikes are too large, if you do speed runs it ok but there are other problems then.

Back of pitch or RPM, personally i run 14deg on my 700 size electrics and no more than 1950RPM, on a hot day i can get a 8 blink shutdown if i want

Any follow-up on this thread? Has anyone tried the new V11 Jive software to see if it still shuts down with the Scorpion 4525 motor?

I am running the v11 Helijive 120 and 4525-520LE in my avant and running 2150 on 713mm blades with +- 13 pitch havent had any problems at all. After a hard flight the highest temp i have seen on heatsink was 70 degrees. Granted this is on a 40 degree day but probably wouldnt be higher than 125 or so in summer.

I will post if I do have any shutdowns.
