Default Tail assembly question

Almost done with my build, but I have a little problem with tail being a bit tight.
It''s bit odd as I can make it smooth by rotating the wheel on tail pitch slider (the one which two special screws from tail pitch lever go into), but it's only one position where it works well - is this normal? Also, when I move tail pitch slider back and forth a couple of times, it eventually aligns itself and tail becomes quite smooth. I am just worried it will not stay that way during flight.

I have checked everything (tail shaft polished, smooth as butter), pitch lever rotating freely etc. I have sanded tail pitch lever in places where it makes contact with pitch slider, it helped a bit.

Any suggestions/ideas?

Thanks!

Did you align the special screws with the provided spacer?

it should be smooth as silk.

Yes, I did.
It is smooth, but only in certain positions of the "wheel" - the one which these screws go in.
I'll check again today.

Re-checked everything very carefully, it's still doing the same - it is silky smooth at certain positions of the wheel, on others it's not. Screws are perfectly aligned using spacer. I don't really know what else I can do.

If i get your issue correctly, I would check that the arms on the pitch lever are perfectly aligned. You can try to pull out a bit (or remove ) the two screws that guide the wheel and see if it improves.

I've tried that (pulling off the screws) it does improve it, but it doesn't fix it. I may try replacing the arm, there is one in spare bag. Thanks for the suggestion.
