With astro flight connectors I think you have to solder the wires to it.

I re-read my last post and realized that I was confused (it happens often).

The Deans Ultra connectors are a lot less expensive and I doubt there's much resistance loss, based on how heavy the connector "pins" are.

Many thanks
I went to the LHS and compared to a new one and you are right, the ratcheting is normal. Spins freely unengaged and 2-3 turns engaged. So all is well. I'm still concerned about the looseness at the blade grips in the up/ down direction. The LHS said that was normal for a V2. I will bring it in and have him check it out.

Yes, I was thrown by this at first too. There is one small bag in your TREX V2 parts kit that has only self-tapping screws and these little, rectangular "nuts" with holes pre-tapped. You use these for your cyclic servos.

Also, I have in the past been "in a pinch" for some nuts and made them out of the hard plastic case that the motor/ESC comes in. I clipped then down so they were small enough to fit, drilled a pilot hole and ... wallah! Servo mounting nuts!

Hi, I want to solder a couple things on my t-rex, and I have no idea which one to buy? Can someone help me choose? I want one more than $10 but less than $30. Thanks Josh

Default Trex SE V2... which vids?

Hello...

I just bought a Trex450SE v2 kit and started looking at Bob's build vids. I see a ton of vids for different versions of the Trex. I don't know which are redundant, or don't apply to the SEv2.

Any Vids on the Trex page that are not applicable to the one I have?

Thanks.

Oh, and Bob, on the page http://www.helitown.com/VedeoInstruc...yBobWhite.html the blade tracking link points to the blade balancing vid...

David,

If this is your first heli then I suggest you start here:

Heli Skills and Setup 101

then for most T450-specific details, go here:

Trex SE and general build videos are here

Not my first heli, but I am still a newbie, and this is my first CP, so that first link will certainly help, thanks. The list at the start of this thread doesn't include any of the step by step build vids for the HDE 450. Are these not applicable to the SEv2?

Thanks

The frame, head and tail of the SE come pre-built. There are also some differences between the two models. However it won't hurt to watch the HDE build videos as there are lots of little technique tips to pick up along the way.

Bob has recently added a complete frame build video to the SE page as well and I am sure that will be worth watching as well.

HDX CCPM interactions (20 Megs 320x240 rez)
http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/hdxbuild&filename=hdx_ccpmint.wmv

HDX Final go over (20 Megs 320x240 rez)

David,

You will find ALL the original Finless videos accessed from this page: https://www.helifreak.com/forumdisplay.php?f=60

Helifreak migrated a couple of months ago from an older version and external links to the old pages will all be broken. Indeed, even some internal links are broken. We cannot do much about the external links (feel free to contact the admins of the site with the broken links and advise them of the link above so they can fix them). If you find any internal broken links then let us know and we can try to fix them.

The Helitown links are bad.

Here is the post that lists all the vids and I checked them and they are correct

https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=11354

kgfly, Will James moved all my HDX build vid posts in the Helidirect forum so they are no longer listed in my forum. I might have him make a copy or something so people dont get confused.

Thumbs up Futaba 6EXH

Hi Finless Bob!!!

First great vids you have done!!

In the ccpm vids in "trex generalbulid" you setting up on at futaba 7 something and I have a 6exh.

* I am wondering when you center the sevroarms with "subtrim" on that radio what is equal on my 6exh?

* In the "swash" menu what should I have 1-S or 3-S for my T rex 450 SE V2?

* What is the drifferens between PPM and PCM on my transmitter?

Thanks for awsome experience lerning from your vids!!!

////Mange from Sweden!

1) There is no subtrim on the 6EX, so you have to get them as close as possible with the arms. A BIG disadvantage to that radio for helis.

2) Don't know, I fly JR.

3) PPM is Pulse Proportional Modulation. PCM is Pulse Code Modulation. PPM is an analog signal and more susceptable to interference. PCM is digital with check sum so the Rx can reject imcomplete or damaged sets of information. Helis make a lot of noise (bearings, belts, vibration) so PCM is prefered. But you need to get a PCM receiver to use it, and it HAS to be a Futaba PCM Rx. There was never a PCM standard, so you are locked in to the single manufacturer.

2) Select 3-S. It tells the radio that it takes three servos to control the collective pitch.
