Default Logo 480 head locked up on spool down.

On about flight #10 the 480 head on spool down at a pretty low rpm just locked up and stopped. it should have still been turning at least 10- 20 more seconds. Picked up the heli the head moved again probably the opposite direction. Put it on the bench everything was fine. Flew it 4 more times without it happening again. I am just interested if anyone knows what happened.

Thanks

Yeah. Sounds like the one way locked up in the direction where it's supposed to freewheel. I'd pull the one way and wipe it out good and inspect it. If it looks fine, put a few drops of automatic transmission fluid in there and you should be good to go. Unless it's a defective OWB of course. If that doesn't help, replace the one way bearing and should be good. I've never had an issue with a mikado OWB except the one I messed up in a crash.
