Default Turnigy 300mah 6S 35C Lipo

I'm thinking of picking up some of these: http://hobbyking.com/hobbycity/store..._35C_Lipo_Pack

Anyone try them out yet?

I used to fly with 560g A123's. CG was slightly forward but she flew great. I suspect this pack will balance ok if it's slid all the way back. This would be a great pack for windy days, and AUW is still less then a T500.

I just ordered 3 of the 2650 30c. Does anyone know if they can be safely charged at 2c?

I should have mentioned that I'm flying w/ a Hyperion 3300mah battery right now. The turnigy is pretty close in size and weight.

It is a little nose heavy and unfortunately I can't slide it back as far as possible because then the canopy doesn't fit! Oh well, it's nothing a little back pressure on the cyclic stick doesn't fix.

I'm looking at these because I can get two of them for less than one hyperion. My plan for a good afternoon of flying would be to fly the hyperion, then charge it at 3C while I'm flying the two turnigy packs. That way I can get four flights in an afternoon.

Combine that with 4 flights on the t-rex, and that's about as much as my nerves can take!

Try the trick of attaching your canopy mount posts one hole forward, sharing screw hole w/ the anti-rotation bracket... a little breathing space, may help

Did that one already. Still pretty tight!

Just sharing my experience, I used to run larger 3000 Turnigy packs and wound up selling them all due to the weight and fit. The extra minute or so gained is nothing compared to simply having more packs.

Bought 9 of these, after selling bigger packs and I love them. $35 and though 20c provide more than enough power, everything but the motor is cool, and getting 6 min of flight 3d on 15t running at 2750 headspeed. Could go longer but want these to last, cheap enough to have many packs, instead of the small amount of time gained on bigger heavier packs. http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=9181

Iadamz, How do these fit under the canopy?

Perfectly, I even have room for wiring across the top. Until something crazy happens, I will be using those packs for the foreseeable future. I decided to put the same connector on my ESC to save the trouble of any soldering.

Has anyone tried these Zippy's instead http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=8914? They look comparable to the Turnigy and a bit lighter.

I'm not positive, but I think the Turnigy's are better cells. I got one of those Flightmax's in 30C and it puffs slightly and gets warmer than my Turnigy 2650 30C. Everyone I know that uses the Turnigy likes them pretty darn well. Lots of punch and stays cool! If your going 20C for sure, I'd stay away from the Flightmax.... but I may have just got a bum pack... anyone else?

Nice...I didn't know about this one! I always have to "stretch" the canopy just a bit to get it to fit. This should give me the room I needed for my 3000mAh to fit without issues.

Thanks!

This works like a CHAMP! Awesome suggestion; I don't know how I missed it or didn't think of it myself. It allows me to easily run my 6S 3000 mAh 35C battery packs with no hassle fitting the canopy! I have spent sooo much time tweaking the battery position each and every time I flew. LOL Life's simple pleasures.

Thanks again, Jim!

I fly the Turnigy 6s 2650 30c and they are great for the Protos, cg is pretty close, not perfect but close enough and the canopy fits in sotck location. About 20 cycles so far.
4 minutes of 3d on stock pinion, motor, esc. Packs barely warm 95-100 deg. f.

great power, and they charge-balance well. So far so good.
