Question "Rewiring" the sat cable for DMSS question

Hi, Considering the XG8 for my 720; how hard is it to rewire the sat cable? (via Wiki info) I gather the tiny wires have to somehow be popped out and rearranged; any special tools? Thanks

You can use an x-acto knife to carefully pry up the plastic retaining tab on the connector. Then you can just pull the wire out and put it back in the correct place.

The connectors themselves are metal, but there are small "tongues" of plastic on the connector housing that hold the connectors in place.

It is actually very easy. I use a sewing needle to raise the plastic tongue that holds the connector and then pull the wire out.
Never had any problem...
Remember to do it modifying a DMS2 wire with a DMSS plug.
Don't try to do it using the DMSS cable with a DMS2 plug as these wires are just too thin and delicate.
And the DMSS plug is smaller but it's quality is much higher so it is easier to undo than the much larger DMS2...
