Default Cut and splice 2 TT drive shafts to make a longer one?

I have a T500 stretch currently running a belt tail. I want to convert to a TT setup. I was thinking of getting 2 TT drive shafts and splicing them to the needed length with some shaft stock slid into the inside of the shaft sections and JB Weld to hold it together. I am curious, anyone play with something like this before and would happen to know offhand what the ID of an Align TT driveshaft is so I can get a preview of what I'll be needing?

I don't think that is a good idea at all.

A better idea would be to adapt a longer shaft, from a 550 for example, by cutting it down.

Or buy a piece of CF rod and make your own. Someone posted how to get the end caps off the TT, but I don't remember where...

The ends are reversed threaded. I took one apart last week. They are loctited so its tough to do, but I did it. The TT shaft is actually threaded ( female ) and receives the end, (male ). So screw the end clockwise to get it to break loose and undo.
As for a longer shaft, there was a guy awhile back who made custom TT shafts out of aluminum arrow shafts. If I remember right, he was swamped with people wanting them, and eventually stopped making them.
The problem with a CF shaft is, in order to use the stock ends, you'd have to have a pretty big OD CF shaft allow the stock ends to screw into the shaft, then need a bearing to fit?

I'm not sure what I was thinking, but CF doesn't hold up to torsional stresses very well, so don't do what I said.

If you cut a longer one down it will be one piece vs making your own it will a seam where you joined them.
