Servo option
Hello
I would like to know what servos have you selected to your Trex 500. Align servos are getting sloppy and with my another helicopters i have found that sometimes other servos are way better. Do you prefer any other servos than those align ones? Thanks for the answers! |

Hitec Mini Digital Servo HS5245MG
[2216570] I found these. Do you prefer these? Does these servos use same horns than aligns or different? |

Not sure on horns, I have used savox since hitech. Savox at one point used to make the align. I heard align went with another company but savox may still make align servos. Fyi you can get side frames that accept standard servos. I saw them on one of the Chinese websites a couple of months back.

Thanks. Would you mind to mention the name of savox servos, you are using. I might stay with the original sideframes still.

I have standard size. Dennis P from the helifarm. Com has some in stock the last I talked to him in the mini size. I thought about ordering a set a month or so ago. The stock ones got a bit of slop fast for me.

If you're after sport flying with some smooth 3d trown in, the tgy-930 from HK are very nice. Didn't developp significant slop during the year and a half i've flown them.
Then with FBL i went for a better swash setup, and put MKS 9660A+. Very nice/precise servo.

Not trying to hijack a thread, but I'm running into the same issue with my elevator servo. That is the only one that has developed slop so far on a build that only a month or two old with no hard 3D flights at all.
I wonder why that one particular servo has slop in it compared to the others? Is it worth it to rebuild the stock Align servos or just upgrade to something else? Currently using the 515M |

The elevator servo is more prone to develop slop, cause it supports more forces then the two front servos.
Rebuilding that servo may only fix it for a while, but i would try that before upgrading. Maybe a defective gear on that servo drivetrain.

Just installed HITEC 5245 cyclics and a Futaba tail on a TRex 500. While configuring it, one of them was non-functioning off the bat. Thinking it was just a bad servo, I ordered 2 more (1 for spare), and when it arrived, one of them was not functioning iether, so that's my experience with Hitec servos for the 500 class. (i have them on a 450 without any problems).
