Wow. I'm an idiot. I forgot to put the pins in my canopy. Came off flying inverted backwards and went through the blades. By some miracle, Heli kept flying!!! Brought it back and landed without incident. Cano not in the best shape. Blades are just SLIGHTLY out of track... guess I should replace FX shaft, dampers, and check bearings. That's a traumatic event!!!Click image for larger version

Yeah man. That was just dumb. Could have been much worse.

I want to go, but I have a camp out with the kids... I'll see what I can do.

Ouch! I still have the stock mounts on my TDR with the pins but the Triabolo had already been converted to Tenax when I got it.

Earlier in the year I had a canopy come off on my Helix gasser, it's using RC Booya mounts and they just weren't seated all the way in. Fortunately it was at the top of a loop so it was inverted and the canopy went upward away from the blades and didn't hit anything. The heli kept on flying just fine and the canopy floated down and landed in the grass with no damage, seriously mega lucky!

Dang, so lucky! I literally saw my 600 explode like a stick of dynamite last fall when doing high speed inverted tail first passes through our field and a huge gust of wind tore the canopy loose. It took five of us two weeks by sectioning and walking the field off to find everything. No more magnetic mounts for me ever again, that is for sure. The heli had a one off frame so it was costly. I also saw my first lipo fire in years on that one.....
