Default Powering 12v leds controllers of a 6s pack.

So i have a problem here.
Right now im powering my two 12V RGB LED controllers of half of the cells, through the jst-xh plug. This however results in my battery becoming very unbalanced and taking forever to charge.

So I'm wondering if there would be any problems with connecting my two led controllers in series instead of parallel. And then powering them from 6s directly instead of 3s.

What I do I use a small separate 3s lipo on my 450-480 size birds to power the leds. I use anywhere from 350 to 500mah on a 450 and an 850mah on the Protos 500.

3s 350 will be good for up to 3 flights if you dont go overboard on the led strips.

Im trying to avoid adding even more weight to my 450, its already at 1150g including the flight battery.

What iv done for now is power each led controller of 3s. This still leaves me with unbalanced cells. But its not as bad as having all leds on half the cells.

I use 500mah 3S Turnigy batteries... they weigh 46 grams- so not much weight. I suppose on a 450 that might make a difference. On my 600 with 192 LEDs, I get 20 minutes and the battery is at 25%.

RGB Led strips + a cheapo controller. Soldering them was a pita.

Did my first propper night flight today, and seems the motor balances out most of the difference between the battery cells.

11.65V in one pack and 11.63V in the other after a 3 minute 30 sec flight.

Camera lost focus at the end of the flight, and turned the last minute into one of those fake ufo videos.
