I thought 1.2 was the frequency the GPS uses? I now 1.3 is usually ok.

Also, make sure there is nothing close to your GPS location and make sure the GPS is recalibrated after you add stuff to your craft.

There is a GPS band at 1227.60 Mhz, so it's possible it could be causing interference. Also, not to be rude, but a little research on the various frequencys used by your gear goes a long way to bringing an aircraft back home. I probably have more time in reading and research on FPV flight and RF principles / theory (for FPV) than any hobby I've ever taken up.

Seems its a common issue with higher wattage vtx's. Fixable if problems still persist for you, although not the easiest mod, but worth doing.

I think im even gonna look into this in case i add a higher wattage vtx.

Yeah, I honestly have at least 5x the amount of time in reading that I do in stick time with FPV, at minimum. There are just so many little things that will take you out the sky that are self induced. Like frequency harmonics for example, a lot of guys run 433Mhz for radio control, which is great; BUT, the second harmonic of 433 is 1299Mhz, or roughly 1.3Ghz, which is also right in the wheehouse of guys running 1.3 video TX. I wouldn't know any of this if it weren't for the guys over at FPVlab helping me down the right path research wise, and lots and lots of reading.

I put in 3 fpv flights just around the yard. Naza gps was surprisingly fast today.

Heres what i do in order:
1. Place quad out in yard, atleast 15'+ away just because
2. Plug in dragon link to trainer port on dx6i.
- dx6i turns on automatically
3. Power on dragon link
4. Plug in flight battery
- Let naza boot up, wait for gps lock(no reds, and wait for "home")
5. Plug in vtx battery
6. Turn on gopro
7. Walk back to my chair/ground station and power on vrx and goggles
8. If not already, wait for ezosd gps, but usually ready to go by now
9. Go fly!

I never had any red lights appear after powering everything else on. Each of the 3 flights i started my flights in different locations around the house, front/side/back yard. On all 3 flights after everything was on i let it sit in the same spot for the first minute on my timer, still no reds.

What size vtx?
Brand of vtx?
Any filtering? Have you tried?
Pics of your setup/spacing?

i am using rc expert 1.2ghz 800 mw tx/rx combo with a low pass filter on the video transmitter
the radio is 14 sg 2.4 futaba
but i will be testing my dragon link on my futaba 10ca as the drgaon link is just plug and play
i read somewhere that i have to use high pass filer to be able to use the dragon link
the only problem is to be able to use the dragon link on my futaba 10ca i have to alter the modulation to ppm which has no fail safe
any ideas ?

I did the Pepsi mod to a Naza GPS puck- it works great. Be sure to get a couple of the saw filters and be prepared to ruin one or two as they are really small and need very delicate soldering techniques.

I have no filters or sheilding on either my vtx or my dragon link, or the gopro. Maybe the 800mw is alittle powerful for such a small airframe and the gps. In the 1.2-1.3 range that is. Do you have a 400mw(what i use) to try? Ive still flown to an easy 1.6km(1mile) on my f450 and 400mw with ibcrazy cloverfleaf whip on vtx, and just the standard whip on the vrx(still waiting on my omni horizon)
