Default Trex 500 Torque tube tail conversion kit questions:

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere and I missed it.

I have some questions regarding Align Part Numbers AGNH50092 and AGNH50092A: Trex 500 Torque tube tail assembly. Is there a difference between the two different part numbers I have seen for this tail assembly?

http://www.amain.com/Align-500-Torqu...ioORoC7nXw_wcB

I would suspect that the "A" version has the 36t vertical drive gear and the non-"A" has the 31t. Is this correct? Or is it just some other small revision?

The reason I ask is that I have an ESP airframe, but it is built with an older belted tail. I want to upgrade to Torque tube and add the new pitch slider assembly to my tail. I wanted to know the difference if any that way I know whether or not I have to replace the vertical TT drive gear with a different tooth count. All the Align specifications descriptions I have seen do not mention the vertical drive gear tooth count for either. Since these cost anywhere from $65 to $85 depending on where you get them, It would be helpful to know which tail drive gear spares I would need.

Any help would be appreciated!

The newer, narrower frame 500 Pros are all torque tube, whereas the older 500s and 500E were belt driven. So I would hazard a guess that the TT conversion kit you linked will work in your ESP. Just to be sure, you could give AMain a call.

Thank you for the response.

After looking at the display pictures for the assembly, it does appear to have the correct hexagonal pins for a 500E/ESP's spacing.

I may just get one anyway. If it's the wrong vertical gear I can always change it out.

For the ESP frame you need the 31 tooth setup.

I understand that. The question was about which TT drive gear comes with the conversion set. Align does not specify. I assume it';s the 31t, but there are two different model numbers of the TT assembly floating around out there: the standard, and the "A" revision.

I wasn't sure if there was a major difference.

*Edit* Just got word back regarding this, and they are one in the same. the A must be just a revision code or something. They are 31T.

I don't understand how they can be the same, since the boom block needs to be wider for the ESP, etc. doesn't it?

Yes, the boom block is wider on the ESP. The issue with the part number though was just a revision. the parts are the same between the different part numbers. At least that is what I was told.
