if you recently purchase the lynx frame brace kit, it's most likely a new updated version with longer screws.

I find that when you install the pins, apply a little dielectric grease on the outside of the pins prior to installing them. The pins didn't rotate for me when I was installing the 14mm hex screws. This will ease the removal of the pins when you move it to new frame.

If you need to remove the pins from the old frame, it's easiest if you screw in one of the long screw about half way from the side where the cf stiffener is installed and use a pair of pliers to pull the pins out. Works for me everytime.

I had to grind inside my frame to get 2 of the screws to make contact. Could you increase the screw length to 14mm, 12 isn't cutting it.

It does stiffen the frame right up though

I'm not sure if my LHS just had back stock of older frames or if they are indeed newer ones. But I just moved mine to a new frame a few weeks ago and had done it once prior maybe a few months ago. In both cases I was able to install it with the original screws. I've always done like nartac said and used a little grease to aid in pushing the pins all the way into the frame. I also used a dowel to push them down to get them seated in there all the way down.

the new kit comes with 14mm hex screws now but Lynx does offer free 14mm screws if you need them when you order something from their website but try to PM GSPI and see if he has any sets of 14mm left
