The ones with spacers won't be thick enough.

Thanks for the heads up on FXAeromodels. I now have a set of blades on the way. I'm surprised he got them in so quick as last week he was out.

Terry (Sorry, don't know why I thought it was Tim),

I would love to have a set of spacers so I have a choice of blades in the future. I have a feeling I may need them. If you PM me, I can Paypal you funds to cover the cost and S&H.

Try Rick's for some stock blades. You may have to call him though. May not be on the website. I saw some in his store at IRCHA.

Yes AROD flew the Lepton in Saturday's demos. He did a really good demo. With all the video cameras going, I am surprised one has not surfaced.

I just tried the MS comp. 420 and I like them alot better than the stock blades, don't get me wrong the stock blades are good but these are alot stiffer being CF.

If I make them I won't be charging for them because with my current work schedule I'm not sure when I can get to them.

From the pics, it looks like the MS blade has a tiny bit wider chord. How do you like them so far? Are they less noisy compared to the stock blades? Can you comment on how they fly (more manueverability, pitchy? etc)

Terry,

My MS 420 blades came today. I ordered the set with teh extra spacers and they came with 2 metal spacers that are about 3.15mm wide. The blades also included 4 black plastic spacers that are about 2mm wide. If I use 1 of the metal spacers with one of the balck plastic ones then the blades fit (albeit a little snug at first). The 2 spacers combined are about .202" wide. I think you said yours were .101" but I don't remember if you said you were using 1 or 2 per blade.

Any issues with having a thicker spacer on top or bottom?

Each spacer that I machined is .101"-.102" thick. If you use two shims of different thickness' the blade is not centered in the grip.

From the few flights that I have with it I really like them alot. They are quieter and the heli feels more responsive. I haven't noticed any pitchiness. They tracked perfectly. I will do more flights this weekend and let you know more.

As far as i know from our national F3C winner (several times), a blade a little off-centered is of no consequence. He says... In your situation i won't bother and test it in flight.

For those interested in MAH blades,

I was waiting to get confirmation on availablity of MAH blades for the Lepton and Jeff Green confirmed it would take 3 weeks still, as they are testing different weights.

Good thing I ordered from FxAeromodels than. The spare blades arrived today, so I'll be flying this weekend.
