Default Battery orings

Got my protos basically built now. The hardest part? Getting the orings on the battery. I practically break the skids trying to get them on. Anybody know a trick to make it easier?

I use Velcro and rubber bands instead. The O rings don't last very long.

I hear you as I´m running 2x3S lipos from my MiniP in series, so my packs are fat. But the same o rings are used as sealing gaskets for automotive oil filters. Maybe you can find some with a larger diameter.

Standard 2700 mAh packs (Sky Lipo) work fine with the O-rings.

2500-3300 packs on mine, no problems with the o rings at all. I like them better then Velcro. I pull way up on the o-ring creating slack then drape it over and hook it on, works every time.

I bought slightly bigger (only 5mm or 10mm diameter) off eBay for my Gens Ace packs and they work a treat

Those o rings are ridiculous! I also tried them and they are so strong they will **** up your battery. LiPo's do not like to be brutalize and indenting them with a stupid o ring is not a good idea.

What size batteries are you using? Oversized packs will not work well with the battery O-rings.

Another option is to buy the o-rings for the SAB Goblin 630...700. Use two, one for each of the two hooks on the frame. In other words, wrap the o-ring around the two lower hooks on one side, up and over battery, and hook onto the two lower hooks on the other side. Do the same for the upper two hooks with the 2nd o-ring. This along with the velcro between the battery and frame keeps the battery in place and doesn't dent it.
