Default 4 strke gasoline Predator!

I just found this video while browsing youtube for gasser videos. I just love the sound of that Honda 4 stroke gasoline engine.

I would have loved to see a video of it in forward flight to see how it performed upstairs.

Interesting indeed. I really loved the sound & how quiet it was. That Honda 4 stroke engine was relatively low powered , bulky & heavy relative to some of the current motors available today from Saito.

I would certainly love to see that flying around in an an open field, so that we could get a better idea of its' power.

Now with the more powerful Saito 4-stroke gasoline and OS 2-stoke gasoline engines available now, it leaves one to wonder how well something like the much lighter G30 would do with the Saito FG-30 four stroke gasoline engine.

I bet that would make for a very realistically sounding and flying H-300 or Bell 47G!

I saw a 4 stroke heli fly in the late 90s (an x-cell), and my god was it an awesome sounding bird. I'd love to see a conversion kit to throw a saito 4 stroke gasser into a G20.

Yes, the old 4-stroker X-Cell was a cool heli in its' day. It developed about the same power as the 2-stroke 61's of the time. I remember Cliff Hiatt flying it at a number of FAI/F3C contests back then.

He was always a joy to watch fly precision FAI and was always so ready to help any of us others.
