The reason I ask is I have a slight, fast wobble when dropping from altitude and doing a quick stop, it also does it after quick movment in a hover.
Would droppng the "I" gain help with this or should I adjust the P or D gain?

Yes I dropped the I gain to 55% on a trex 600n and increased the gain from the front page from 22 to 25

Tried dropping the I gain down to 90,80,70, then 60 while keeping "front page gains" at 33 The wobble didn't get better, the heli just got very mushy feeling. So I bumped the I gain back up to 100 and bumped down the other gains to 27. This seems to have fixed the wobble. Just feel like 27 is to low, but if it works it works right.

Default drifting backwards

hey guys i have the cx 3x1000 on a trex 500 efl and i copied one of your setups here but
my heli always drifts backwards. anyone knows why its doing this?
And also i have a tail bounce that goes away when i set the gain from my rx to very low like 14% but then the tail gets "lazy"

I cant find solution to these two. if you know something please help me.

Make sure you rebind you Rx or set failsafe, depending on you radio. Failsafe can cause the wrong center stick position to be seen at startup.

Mounting foam and vibration would be the other thing. Get some Tarot ZYX foam. I use this on all of my gyros now, even the MB. Check main and tail blade balance. Try different main and tail blades.

Is it a tail wag or just a bounce on piro stop?

Glad I could help with the setup.

I've never had wag with the ZYX, except when I had a faulty tail bearing. This was on a 450 and is not so common on the 500, as it has thrust bearings, but check for any binding. The most common cause of binding on the 500, is the plastic tail blade holder links. I upgraded the whole tail pitch slide and links to the CNCHelicopter version.

Make sure you are using a good fast coreless tail servo. I'm using the Fitec FS9357D on my 500EFL Pro and the tail is perfect. I have a MKS 8910A+ but I haven't fitted it yet, because the Fitec is working so well.

Vibration could also be the cause of the tail wag, so make sure you have everything well balanced.

Did you mount your gyro on the slide out tray in the lower frame? That's where I have mine. More chance of vibs on top by the tail boom.

Blade 450 3D, copter-x fbl, tarot head, stock 420 motor, Align 3g blades
Using the program box

Tail P:80 I:50 D:30
Accel L/R: 125
Decel L/R: 25
tail deadband RC: 60
tail deadband gyro: 4
piro speed l/r: 40
tail limit a: 123
tail limit b: 118

Roll/Pitch P:80 I:82 D:15
accel 125
decel 55
swash deadband rc: 40
swash deadband gyro: 4
roll/pitch agility: 40
aile/elev limit: 57 (about 7.5 degrees of cyclic deflection)
collective range: 57 (about 12degrees of collective deflection)

TX is a DX6i.
TX gyro setting: 68%
TX: DR/Expo setting 100%/25% (for rudd, elev, aile)
TX: throttle curve: 97-96-95-96-97

It took me a bit to finally get the heli working really well, although you can see I really didn't deviate too much from the stock settings.
The thing that threw me off for the longest time was FFF and light 3d was great, but I had some slight drift or wobble at hover, because I thought the swash was level, but in fact it wasn't. The fbl would 'try' to keep it right, but if I had the gains high enough to compensate for the un-level swash it would have other bad tendencies.. Anyway, with the mechanicals now correct, hovers are dead still, hands off even for 5+ seconds, and stationary piros are dead on.

Also, it very much likes the higher head speed, thus the reason I posted my throttle curve.

I had issue on spool-up shake (on 450) and fix was to tighten the head to main shaft better and adding bigger shims to bladegrips/dampeners (grips used to flex just a bi too much up-down).
Now it is solid on spool up and flight.

The usual fix for this is to lower the gain on the cyclics. If you're using light 3d setting, lower the cyclic gain from 45 by 5 to 40 and test and keep lowering until the shake is gone. My 450 did this yesterday and now my gain is at 25.

I'm having the problem on my 250 of drifting during a hover. It flies fine doing FF, circuits etc, but while hovering it always wants to drift off in a random direction. Anyone else experienced this?

Did my first flights today on my Trex500.
All seems to be going well. Punch outs locked in, slow funnels ok, but when i went for a backwards loop the tail spun 180º On the TX tail gain i have 68% any more and the tail starts wagging. What settings can i change to stop this blowout?
Thanks

This gyro is not designed to hold position. Your heli will slowly drift in a hover, but should remain level. If it tilts, you either have an off-level swash, or you need more gain.

Sorry i didnt describe it properly. By drifting i mean it loses its attitude as if i have trim. Doesnt hold a flat rotor disc. I've since put a beastx on my 250 and it holds perfectly. Its strange because i put the zyx on my 450 and it holds like a rock

I programmed in Beenflying's 500 setting. Heli fly great though a little sensitive for me. What can i change to make it less twitchy?
Thanks Lee

Weelee,

Decrease the agility settings a bit, and/or use D/R and expo on the radio.

If it tilts/drifts in the same direction then the swash is not level.
If it tilts/drifts in random direction, then you can try increasing the overall gain, or if that doesn't work, you could trying increasing the I gain and see if that helps.
