Default My Protos night flyer

My first night rig ready for a day flight to check it out before trying night flying for the first time this weekend at a funfly.

HK waterproof LED strips, MS Comp 430mm night blades. It is a bit hard to see from the pictures but I have Blue LED's on the Canopy upper, White on the lower and under the LG. The boom is Red and the tail fin is Yellow.

I am running the LED's off a 3s 360mah with a Brushed ESC running all of the LED's on an aux channel so I can change the brightness. It lets me turn down the brightness depending on the ambient light. The LED pack runs the LED's for 10 minutes at full brightness so I will be swapping both packs every flight.

Only change I might make is to put some Blue LED's on the outside of the LG but I want to see it in the air first and see what it looks like with just the while LED's underneath the LG.

I will post up some pictures of the setup and links to the bits and pieces I used after the weekend. I am driving to a funfly 7 hours away in the morning for the first flights.

Should have some video as well after the trip but I am not a 3D flyer, just sports aerobics and inverted so it won't be too exciting.

It was pretty much all Hobby King stuff so all up was a bit over $100USD for everything used including blades.

Had my first night fly tonight, only got one pack through between rain showers but it went perfectly. Did loops, rolls, a few flips, stall turns and some inverted hovering and didn't have any problem with orientation. I didn't get any video as the guy using my camera didn't know how to lock the focus so it was just a blur. Took one hour to switch back to a day flyer for tomorrow.

Really glad I set.it up and looking forward to more flights in the future.
