May just be the internal battery. I recently bought one (just the glo driver, not the load tester version) from Ron's Heliproz South and it worked for a couple of starts and then failed. The indicator lights showed good but the glow plug wouldn't get hot.
I called Duralite and they were a bit surprised that I had just bought this unit. Seems they discontinued the version I have a long time ago. Anyway, they sent me a return authorization form and I sent the unit in, along with a copy of my invoice from Ron's. It turns out, according to Duralite, the unit was about 3.5 years old and the internal battery was dead. Regardless, they replaced the battery under warranty and sent it back. So far, it's working great. I can't fault their service, especially since this unit was well past any reasonable warranty time but it was still a new purchase to me so they covered it. I'd imagine that Ron was "real" happy to finally see it off his shelf! Fly Safe, Steve R. |

Mine also heas dead internal cells. I called them this week to get repair info. I was told they have not replaced batteries in these pieces in over a year. (Duralite Batteries Plus load tester/ glow driver)
They were supposed to call me back today after "speaking with the owner". No return call. I have had excellent service with them in the past. Lacking this week. SO, anyone know a source for the batteries. I have a hammer. I should be able to replace em. Thanks Wags Oh, I love the convenience/ simplicity of this piece. I just need to repair it. |

Well, I answered my own questions.
The batteries are LiIon LS1865am 3.7v. I found some on ebay for 23 each. I went to a gun show today and there they were sitting right on the table in a 2 pack. Tenergy?? He was selling high end flashlights, so they must use the same battery. 15 bucks for the pair! So, searching for those lights or candlepower forum will probably get you guys back in business. A little solder and heat shrink tubing and I'll be back in business. Wags |
