Default 500 stretch confusion

I just placed an order for the plastic version of the Protos 500. Before placing the order, I checked the msheli website and it clearly showed the plastic version with dimensions of the rotor disk with standard blades and the 470 blades. I also downloaded the instructions for doing the stretch conversion to 470 and it made no mention of carbon vs. plastic frames. So, I am thinking that if I ever want to run the 470 configuration, no problem. But I went to check on getting parts for it and there was a stretch kit, but it says, in red letters, "for carbon frames only". Now, I have been reading some in this forum and have seen that you are not supposed to use 470 blades on the plastic frame.

Can somebody explain what is going on here? I thought I had done due diligence researching this issue straight from the manufacturer, but now it seems the information I needed was not even available from the manufacturer, unless I missed it.

In any case, can you run 470 on the plastic frames?

You can, the problem is you need the 3rd bearing pinon support and long motor shaft or else you will trash the motor bearings quick. I made a template and drilled my plastic frame to accept the 3rd bearing support. Works fine @ 2400rpm with 470s.

I don't do smack though, just smooth 3d.
