Default Video: Programming Jive controller including ATV's

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oA5_Pg-ym_A[/ame]

I'm not as good as Finless on doing videos, but this is something I have to answer over and over again, so here it is, simple programming of a jive and set ATV to maximum.

Edit: Here is how you do it with a ProgCard

Great video.

How come the auto apm function in the Jive leaves so much dead band??

ps. I would love to see a video setting endpoints using the progcard hint hint.

Its not APM mode (that's an airplane thing we dont use)

Buffer is probably a "safety" for old crappy radio with crappy pots.

Progcard is NOT the solution, it put in the same buffer!, Meaning ATV adjustment is still needed.

Interesting. I was afraid that might be the case. Never heard that before. Is there a definitive way to determine the high endpoint? I know you've always just set it the same as the bottom, but isn't that effected by the radio? Or is that already taken into account by the Jive's deadband? It's slowly sinking in for me lol.

edit:
ps So basically what Kontronik is doing is putting a 20% buffer after it determines the high and low endpoints automatically, and you are removing the buffer with the atv's. And if you use the progcard or automate it with the stick programming it doesn't matter, they still apply that 20% buffer.

I am a slow learner but I will catch on eventually. lol

Run full throttle and I think the LED is turned on if I dont remember incorrectly, but easiest is to spool it up with a 0-100 curve and listen when you dont get any more change in RPM.

But on Spektrum it's always the same.

Great Vid, thank you! Perfect timing. I recently received my Jive 80HV and was a bit confused on, "how-to...".

This is my first Kontronik's - I have no idea how to set this thing up. I got the lower limit. The upper limit, if I wanted to adjust RPM's, do I simply adjust upper endpoint up or down within the limits of 70 - 85?

This is my setup, but still waiting for motor...
L600 FBL
BLS451
BLS251
Xera 4030 2.5y-560
153 main / 15 pinion
2x TP45 5000

I'm just a noob flying circuits, nothing fancy (yet)...

After you program it according to the video, you make a normal curve something like 0-50-50-50-50 and idle up 75-75-75-75-75 (i.e. flat)

Adjust % in the curve to get different headspeeds.

DOH! Thanks MrMel.

I got ATV numbers confused with throttle curve numbers.

Great for good Video. I done set it up with new Jive 120A (mode 4). Dont need program card II? I read some forum. normal 75 % flat, ST 1 85% flat, ST2 95%?
Should I set it up Normal 50% Flat, St 1 75%, and St2 85% ?
I build on my Trex 700E with Kontronik Pyro 30-12 Brushless.
JR 9303
Thanks in advance!

After you program it yes then you can make all your modes flat throttle curves yes, but only after can you change your normal from 0-100. You only need prog card2 if you choose to change your BEC output voltage. Default output voltage is 5.6 volts.
