Spinning out of control?
I have a tarot 450 pro with a belt drive. I am using a VBar gyro.
Today it was flying normal all of the sudden it started spinning had to hit throttle hold. What could cause this? It was like I made it do piros but I didnt no matter what I did it just keep spinning. I am a newer flyer. I would say the copter has 360 flights and about 8 crashes. So I have not seen this. |

If I were you I would check 1. the belt tension and the belt teeth for wear to start with, 2. do a range test for the transmitter to be sure it is OK, 3. check the tail servo by rapidly moving the heli left/right and make sure the slider is moving freely and the servo is responding |

Make sure the tail is tight to the shaft too. If it's slipping you'll lose authority as well. Loctite is your friend. Dan

What about OWB is dying ? I had similar symptom too. Initially, it was tail wag and then gradually, it became 360 spinning in flight.

Also I know the tail was not binding due to I oil it every time out so it moves free. I did look at the flight log. There was lost of aileron lost elevator (so does this mean I lost a signal or something messed with my signal. How much vibration can you get away with on a vbar. Thanks for all the help. |

From the sound sound of your log, you are getting signal drop outs. Please post your log.

From my limited but extensive expierence w vbar is that it handles vibrations very well. If you were having vibration issues they would show up in your logs as "raised vibrations" "high vibrations" & "extream vibrations" in that order depending on how bad they were during the flight.

I lost the orgional log but I am almost sure it was like this
34 4:45 RC input of AUX channel missed 33 4:46 RC input of Tail channel missed 32 4:46 RC input of Elevator missed 31 4:46 RC input of Alieron missed 30 4:46 RC input of Pitch missed so somehow did I have a brown out As of right now I am using a turingy Typhoon motor 2215 I was at like a 85 straight across throttle curve> Flying that flight was about a min of all 8 points of hover like in the From tail-in to all 8s and funnels in 6 months than flew some figure 8's ccw and cw after that was some stall turns than I switched back to the idle up which is 0 50 65 75 75 with a pitch curve of 0 25 50 75 100 so as I switched back to idol up mode it started spinning so I hit throttle hold I never tryed to use the rudder to stop it so maybe I could of saved i. Like I said thanks for all the help. I know crashing is part of the game and it dosnt bug or freak me out. I just would like to find out what it could of been so I can correct it. The missing channel input mean that your tx is losing connection to the rx and those channel signal were missed. I would look into better antenna placement.
Unless there were voltage warnings in the vbar, I doubt you had a brown out. But it's possible. A warm start in the log would indicate that.

I had this problem before with my 450 sport. My problem with it was the teeth inside the gear box for the slider that the belt goes around the teeth section broke free from the shaft itself it took me 3 days figure it out and by accident

I was at like a 85 straight across throttle curve DX6i and orange RX ESC is 30 Amp with the BEC servos LS -11a LHS I am pretty sure now it lost signal. I lowered the RX today so the antenna is below the frame. The wires were right next to the carbon frame. The RX is the orange kind from hobby king. I have a older spectrum that I can use also if you think I should switch it out. I call it learning the hobby. Any ideas would be helpful and I will try them. the heli has 386 flights with 8 crashes. |
