a bit of update on the UH-1D

Initially I did what I did with my snowwolf.. using the hinges.. but scrap that for this..

I epoxy it on to the kit.. very strong magnet.. after epoxying them on then realise you can actually save one side.. and just use scrap metal.. well.. It's very tight with both sides magnet..

I did though about the apache.. But I think the 1/72 scale is too small.. I'm Not sure.. haven't got one to try..

But the look of it.. It's frame is smaller the the airwolf 1/48 scale.. I had to hack quite a lot off my airwolf to fit..

You could look at my airwolf build and have a gauge on it to see if it will fit..

I was thinking of making the rear stabilizer functional but I don't know.. might mess with the gyromajigger.. I'll post pics when im done!! btw I'm using an hp08s so this thing's gonna rip!!

are you going to build the AH64?
just one word of advice (a coupel words...) keep it light!!!
I need to trim some weight on my hog.... and do the motor upgrade! (hopefully Santa has a little motor upgrade for me!!!) your HP08 ought to do the trick!!!

Just maiden it.. with not enough power to get it above 1 foot..

Questerng, Nice looking build! and yes, definetely need at least the c05 probably the H05 or maybe even bigger! after burning a tail mosfet and getting the board repaired (thanks Cartrixx!) I put it back together and ran into the same issue. I could get it up off the ground, but it was REAL squirrally and way underpowered. After the holidays I am going to do a BL mod... really need two, on for my stocker and one for the Hog.
I am still looking for a Bell 47 kit to build...

I remember seeing that 4 blade head thread... seems I remember there was some sort of issue with it... I would love to get my hands on one! might have to be a custom build! anyone have one of those mini machine lathes???

Hi everybody.

Very impressed with all the scale models I have seen so far... Great Work!

I enjoy hugely flying my mCP X, but I am also a big fan of scale helis, so...

I am in the process of converting (oops, wishful thinking... more like experimenting with) a mCP X into a Loach (OH-6) which would require a 4 blade head, it looked like the easiest conversion (yeah I know how that sounds). I am working on a home brew version but had some issues building my own parts like the feathering shafts for the 4 blade rotor head that fit the 3mm carbon mast, that I found, not to talk about with phasing, torque problems, blown tail, etc... (If I ever get something worth while showing, I will post pictures)
I was hoping that somebody maybe has come up with something usable by now. I read that someone had build a semi working 4 blade (It might be the same that was mentioned in a previous post, not sure)... as well as about a guy in Germany that had a 5 blade (for a MD500 D) in the works...

Anybody has any information, advice, cautionary tale, laughable remarks at me? Anything and everything very welcome...

I have to say that the Bell 47G kit-bash was easier than I expected. And it would have been even easier if I didn't keep the ability to go back to pod and boom.

One thing though.... this totally eliminates one of the major selling points of the MCPx.... its crash survivability. The only good part is that the entire Revell kit was $12.95 at the LHS, which is on a par with a new stock canopy.
