Default What size blades do you prefer?

I just bought a 700, and own an 800 that I've had for 2 years. The 700 manual calls for 700mm to 750mm blades. I am using the 713's. 50mm is a big difference between blade sizes, and I'm assuming a difference in how they fly. I am also wondering if you can throw 690's on it if that's all you had at the moment ( I keep a spare set of those as many of my Helis use that size). I was also curious if you could run the 753's that fit the 800. I just swapped my 753's for 813's on my 800, and the 753's are sitting in my cabinet. I saw a YouTube vid of someone flying the 753's and it looked very agile for such large blades.
So I'm very curious as to what size and types of blades you guys like on the 700 machine.
Oh, and I'm glad to be part of the 700 club now.
Guy

I'm flying 713's on mine now. Have also ran 730 and 753s. The 753's are too big for 12s setups.

690-695 will work but they're short for a heavy model. Depending on the blade you may not get the lift you want out of it. I'm running Helix 715s and am very happy with that setup, but everyone has their own blade preferences.

+1 on Helix 715mm. Wish there are good blades at the 730mm size.
SAB has 730mm but it's for FAI.

I've been running the stock edge 713's on my 700.

Recently changes to 4530-450le and 14s 4400 45c and it a was a nice change , plenty of power on tap.

My understanding on the 753's is that there a heavy blade and takes away from the agility ( as compared to 713 agility ).

I haven't tried it myself as both NTM and OICU812 both said the same thing , Shawn has helped me setup my 600 3d way back and he knows his stuff. Based on that recommendation I didn't spend the $180 to try them.

I do wish they made a 730mm blade as I feel (along with many other) that that would be a sweet spot for the logo 700. Lighten up the diskloading a touch and I'd assume a bonus bit of pop , even could get away with the stock 12s setup as long as your not a stick pounder.

There are some 730's made out in Europe somewhere but they're not that great. Only option and sadly they don't perform well. Im assuming 3d flight.

They tried the 753's and both said that it's best to be running 14s setup or be really good a collective management.

Myself I decided I like the 770 size so much (goblin) so my winter project is to make a logo 770. I think this will be a great disk loading , less than the 800 on 813's ( a blind monkey can auto this baby like a pro all day long ) and the logo 700 with 713's ( sorry Mikado , I live your machines but the 700 comes in hot every time and is hard to set down right ).
Taking the logo 700 and fitting 800 parts trimmed a little bit.

A note on the other thread .. I've always run 813's on my 800 , quite like them. I'd suspect the 753's to raise the diskloading up quite a bit.

Martin, always good to hear from you. I agree with everything mentioned above. The 753's are just too big and the only reason I contenplated it was that I have the extra set from the 800 now, but the heli gods will give me a need to use them again when I least expect it . I noticed such an improvement going to the 813's on the Logo 800 that I suspect the idea of a 730 to 745 size blade might really put this machine over the top.
I could change my motor to 14S as everything else on my 700 would handle it, but I'd have to buy even more 7S batts if I wanted to fly both models in the same day. An extra 5 sets of pulse 7s batts ain't cheap, though I'd probably just buy a generator at that point. I like keeping the 700 as a 12s as it shares batts with 3 other 12s Helis. The guys at my field are starting to complain that they can't get batteries because I keep buying them out maybe I shoild listen to them.
Great info,
Thanks,
Guy

Rapid makes a 730 but there not that great. Cyclone is coming out with 715s and they will feel like a larger blade on the collective.

I ran Rapid 730's for a year or so. Rapids are a soft bite type blade but I compensated by running allot of cyclic and collective. Now I run Rail 716 and I really like them. To run the 716's I did allot of small things to lighten the 700 to the point its 12.3lb RTF.

Replaced stock Motor/ESC, BEC, backup pack with Kontronic 750 and Kosmic 160, eliminated allot of extra wiring, wire is very heavy, even servo wires... Carbon tail boom, removed a couple of carbon plates up front to make the Kosmic fit in the frames. Run 4400mah packs.
Replaced the original canopy I had for a couple of years and found the replacement weighed a good bit less. Seems to be thinner than my old canopy is.

710 is fine. Though it depends a bit on the blade. As for headspeed, depends what you like. I run mostly around 1860 with a high of 2060. I move it around sometimes depending on mood.

Well the price is good, for sure. Unfortunately the blades you may not like so much. You may need more headspeed to get enough pop out of them.

I believe 2050 is Kyle's "standard" headspeed. For aggressive smack I think he's at 2120. Though I'm sure he changes that up at will. For me the flight times are too short at those speeds so I run a little slower and give it more pitch, but I'm not putting on a show for an international audience.

I'm hoping the SAB 770 blackline 3d blades are going to be good.

Slim pickings in the 770 range.

I've trimmed a 800 tail boom 50mm down , and put a 800 main shaft in , bought a 800 motor for it as 770 much closer to 813 than 713. 14s.

Coming together , working on the battery pack wiring now.

Martin

For helix blades you need the 14mm spacers. They have fat roots.
