No you can trim the shaft as needed as long as you protect the motor with a plastic bag to keep the shavings out. Do you have a continuity tester to ckeck out the motor for shorts or an open circut?

I did everything under the thought of....

count three times cut only one.

So I guess is the Pyro that has the problem.
Should I send both for checking?

Sounds like a problem wih the motor if another one works.
Only other thing that i've seen to cause this is if you close the thr while spoolingup even momentarily so make sure once you open the thr you dont close it at all till spooled up completely. On the pyro you can do this withou blades, i do it all the time.

I've always wondered why that happens (start spooling up then close throttle & it won't spool up again until batt reconnect) I saw this with a jive 80 I have but it doesn't seem to happen with another jive 80 of mine

That doesnt sound right, it should spoolup without having to disconect batt, maybe need to reset and reprogram

I am having a similar issue with my jive120hv as Billiano recently.
During start up my main rotor will turn and brake; turn and brake and it just continue this way until I throttle down. I am using a Scorpion HK-5035 motor. I tried the 120hv on other smaller motors of different brand and it all worked nicely. I almost sent the Scorpion motor back for a warranty repair if I had not tried a 80hv on the HK-5035 motor which spins perfectly, loaded or unloaded. I am confused now and am waiting for a reply from Kontronik.

Have you done a reset to Mode 1, then 4, then KSA Mode 10?

Yes, tried all of them. My tx throttle is set flat N: 0% and idle 1: 50%.

sounds more like a bad solder joint on one motor lead. As you know, the motor is 3 phase, so if it rocks and stops and rocks and stops, then only 1 or 2 of the phases are powering the motor. The 3rd is not, and the magnetic pull is pulling the motor back to the second phase.

Re solder your ESC bullets and motor bullets, then all should be well.

I tried another 2motors and worked just fine.

I also tried a friends of mine pyro and was spinning correct.
So it must be the motor.
But I also did not want to make any experiments since I paid 570+320$.They are all shipped and lets see.

Some motors are incompatible with jive, you can try manually adjusting timing, sometimes it works, I had it on a 330kv scorp was able to fix one with manual timing but unsuccessful on another, one of the reasons I now rewind all my motors

Had the same problem with my helijive 120 as well, had two good flights but on the third flight during spool up the heli started bouncing around because the motor stopped and started then it went dead. Disconnected and reconnected the batts but the esc was a dead duck. Went to my supplier and he said he will send it back to kontroniks for me, great service from pertrc. The esc was only a month old with only around 20 flighs. I wonder how many people are having problems with the helijive?

I sent it back to Kontronik directly, since I live in Europe.

I had no reply ,so I emailed them.
They told me that the brand new ESC HeliJive 120HV + Pyro 700-52 are on their way back to me.

I asked further details what it was wrong.
NO answer.NOTHING that I should take care of.

Let's wait to see.

Yea the Jive design/firmware is pretty proven over a long time.
The only restriction of the design is compatible motors esp in Mode 8.

Exclamation Ready Heli & Kontronik REALLY BAD AFTER SALES SERVICE...

Dear Friends
I decided to make a gift to myself.
It was a TDR heli.

I got a Helijive 120HV and a Pyro700-52 for it.
The problem that I have is that my motor never run or spooled up
properly. After 2-3 sec of spooling the motor was stopping like it is magnetically trapped.
So after speaking with Ready heli (from which I got Pyro)I sent it to Germany(Kontronik) at 12th January 2012 both motor and ESC.

I got them yesterday with the service report that everything is fine without further details.

After many attempts I was not able to set the motor.
So I got a friend's motor hooked up to make a test.
Enjoy and let me know what can I do now?

Are they thinking that we are fools or only good to pay?

Now I know that is not my problem in setting the motor

I assume both motors are exactly the same model,

They should fix or replace it in my opinion.

The video makes this very clear.
