Aaaah just read your blog. See that you've covered 15 points by just using the JLog2
but will this be able to synthesize into voice telemetry on the DS 16 ? This is the
feature that Im most interested in. When one flies you rarely have to time to look at
the display. So voice telemetry to me is really an important feature.
Thanks again & I enjoy reading your blog clear & concise. Frankly the features available
on the DS 16 is too comprehensive. If I were to purchase one, dont think I will use more
then 30% of it's features

Yes they will be able to be read off by voice and alarmed on.

This is a premium transmitter. It is expected that in order to appeal to a broader market that it will have a lot of functionality that I won't use. No one is going to build an exact transmitter that only has the features I want and nothing more.

Keep in mind that there is hardware cost and features due to the flexibility of the design and electronics.

You will get to use their extremely high quality gimbals, movable switches, high visibility display and feel the substantial nature of the overall transmitter.

The fact that it has a powerful computer core that allows them to add additional flexibility at no additional unit cost, means that it has legs and is likely to see additional very interesting features.

It makes no sense for them to sell a crippled version where features are just dissabled and then try to sell it at a different pricepoint.

I don't think it has one. I think the volume is supposed to be loud enough to hear.
The voice telemetry is pretty useless if the volume isn't loud enough. The DC-16 has a headphone jack as well.

The other issue I would see is that it could interfere with the accellerometers in the DS16.

15 telemetry channels updated every ~3/4 of a second.

More information here. https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=478516

From what I can tell the JLog seems like a match made heaven for the DC-16 and DS-16.

The Jeti Transmitters are much more advanced than anything else available, and a lot of the early adopters are going to be people who already have an investment in expensive Kontroniks Jive ESC's. This isn't to discount the Jeti Mezon ESC's, but people trust their Jives, and many have a sizable investment in them well past the cost of a DS-16. A number of us already have at least one JLog2 unit. This means all that we need to do is built one cable to connect the JLog2 to a Jeti Transceiver and we have everything we need.

When I build my next heli I will consider a Jeti Mezon ESC that can talk to the Transciever without a JLog, but Ieveraging the JLog2 connection will be important to Jeti as a gateway to enable a lot of people to use telemetry very quickly.

I plan to blog some easy to follow instructions on setting this up once I get everything I need.

Would be nice if Jeti would come up with a Jive/kosmic to jeti telemetry adapter as well. But i doubt they want to steer attention away away from the Mezon ESC. But like you have mentioned there is a large Kontronik user base.
