Danny, if you want to mesaure, the old boom thickness is 0.3mm.

i dont have anything that will measure that accurately.. my dad may have a micrometer. not sue if that would work or not

Unless it's a tiny pit gauge, I dont think standard outside mics will work for wall thickness. The tight curvature will not allow the anvils to sit flush and the square end will likely not give access anyway. If youre happy with the strength of the boom I say put it on and fly The one in my kit was paper thin, so I ordered the 0.5mm one. It put my mind at ease.

i was able to get it right on the verry corner of the slit cut in the boom, so that should be a accurate reading

My kit contains the longer canopy mount but the old drilled canopy, why is that

Who knows, but one guy I saw at Mid-America this year relocated his canopy posts to work with the standard holes in the canopy while also using the extended mount.
