mounting problems with 550l dominator
Happy new year.
I have 2 problems during installation of a sk720 + gps The first is that the canopy is in touch with the 720 when is mounting in the regular place in front of the motor. This problem is solved by mounting an extra carbon plate below of the main gear. The second is that i realize when i put the canopy on is covering the gps (i will upload pictures) do you think if this is a problem ?? |

Fiberglass will not block GPS signals, but just test and make sure your getting full lock properly. You have much thicker FG blades spinning up above the GPS anyway. You have more of a risk by placing the GPS close to the electronics and steel bolts than anything, as these can sometime interfere with the compass in the unit, so make sure your magnetic field strength levels shown in the data is within proper limits.
My Goblin has the GPS mounted right at the boom and close to the servos like yours, and its value is only about .4 when all is powered up and out at the field and works well. The values will be much higher indoors or around buildings or cars, so only base it on what you see out in the open. Absolutely nothing can come into contact with the FBL unit though, or it will transmit vibes into the unit.

thanks for your reply
that's why i decide to move the FBL to a new place and the best was underneath the main gear using a carbon plate of a multicopter frame part. about the gps i have a boom mounting plate but i want to avoid it because i thing is more sensitive place in case of crash than the place i have put it now . |

one other thing is confused me is about vibration
in my 700N i have a beastx FBL it was installed with a thick foam that it comes with in the box , we was very lucky and we dont crash the heli by unexpected behaviour. the problem was vibrations and the solution was the thin 3m adhesive tape plus a Velcro that keeps the FBL very well in place. on the other hand the 720 is very sensitive to vibrations and we use a thick foam plus the metal , free from everything i can not understand |

The part in the 720 that is sensitive to vibrations are the accelerometers which are used to detect level, and work with the GPS rescue features. Vibrations can cause the accelerometers to misinterpret what level is, so SL shuts off with high vibrations for safety reasons. The Beast X has no SL, and therefore no accelerometers in it. The 720 can be used in a vibration environment as well if you have no need for the SL function.
