Default 14mz Throttle stck stops

Hi,

Is it easy to remove these and recalibrate ? I've looked around for stick calibration but can't find anything. Tempted with the new 10cg, finally a dedicated 2.4 unti ! but would I be disapointed with the quality and feel of the 10c compared to my 14 ?

Simon.

What is the purpose of the throttle stick stops? I mean, why would you want less travel on the throttle stick?

Hi,

I'm not sure why Futaba has descided to use the throttle stick stops on 14MZ. Maybe they think the stick travel is to long then and you get to close to the switch A and B with your fingers at full throttle with possible accidently change the switch, especially the long arm switch.

I have removed the throttle stop on my 14MZ. And then recalibrated the sticks with T14mzUtility.exe that is made for Futaba FX-40 but works with 14MZ also if You downgrade to Encoder 1.39 + Editor 1.31 before using the utility.

If You need the utility and downgrade files You can PM me with Your e-mail and I can send You the files. I take no responsibility for using the utlility or when downgrading/upgrading the software.

Some pictures, from left to right:
- Full travel of throttle stick after removal of stops on my 14MZ.
- Throttle stops removed.
- Compact Flash card and reader I use when upgrading my 14MZ.
- Table of content for T14mzUtility.exe (described in the PDF file for this utility).
- Main testing menu in T14mzUtility.exe
- Main calibration screen inT14mzUtility.exe
- Sub calibration screen in T14mzUtility.exe

Other screens of interest in T14mzUtility.exe are:
- Stick mode setting screen where You can select Airplane or Helicopter, Mode 1 (right throttle) or Mode 2 (left throttle).
- Area setting screen where You can change region area (like US and Europe).
- Product ID where You type in Your ID number as seen on the small bar code sticker on underside of the transmitter.

I have the utility too. I need the 1.0.1 version of firmware to downgrade my radio. So the utility work. With other firmware (1.3.9 - 1.4.2) doesn't work.

Thank's. luca

Default T 14 mz Throttle stick stops

It's all OK. I've downgraded to the 1.0.1 firmware, launched the t14mzutility, re-calibrated the stik and up-graded to the 1.6.0 firmware. The radio works perfectly.
Thank's to every one suggested something.

I have another problem: the aileron trim works only to the right. If I push to the left don't "clicks" and the trim cursor don't move. I change it with the T5 trim but it isn't istinctive.
Can I "repair" it with the utility? Or is a hardware problem?

Best regards, Luca
