Question on metal and lynx motor idler pulley
Could you guys who have metal pulleys or the lynx idler pulley + mount measure for me the total length from the frame with the mount ?
I've heard the metal pulleys have smaller sides, so we might be able to do the double idler mod used on the protos 500 (stock plastic pulley is a bit too wide). That would allow us to run smaller (14t) solid pinions without having the belt slip on it when running high powered motors (scorp 2520, Xnova 2618). It would be a simple matter of dremeling the mounting holes, or using two left frames.

Novel idea. If nobody else answers up soon I'll let you know. I have the CNC Lynx Idler in route to me now to replace the original which froze up on me.

I ordered two Lynx idler pulleys when I made my order. I can confirm that they DO NOT fit and won't allow the double idler mod on the mini frame. Here are a few pics...measurement to widest extremes on Lynx setup is just under 17mm.

Notice in the pic that not only are they touching, but the side frame is still not completely flush [emoji17]

This is bad for the mod, but could also reduce the need for this mod, since it does allow more belt engaging the pinion. Anyways, I'm not really sure if I'm going to stick to the mini prôtos for high-power setups, the X3 is heavier, but the drivetrain has no issues handling the power.

2 is not better than 1.. like with medicine somentime. lol. our parts just fix the melding plastic issue and give longer life tot the bearing becausebeat sinka effect and no warp on load. I thinks that how have belt issue is because they pull too much alor low. the msh heli need a little experience to set the belt. I see ppl loose it tok much.. this no ok because the belt will slept on the tooth. I suggest in the motor side a medium hight tensions and in the tail side little less. I use a screw driver to push and check the belt deflection. I use load the belt with moderate forxe untill the belt can max bent 1 mm on the motor side and 2 or 3 on the belt side. this is how I fly from the beguining of msh release in 500 and mp wirhout issue.
let me know if help Luca Invernizzi Lynx Heli Innovations
