Default Jlog file...what does this indicate??

My helijive shutdown to coming out of the top of a loop..was inverted...led to crash...pulled my jlog file, and I'm seeing "the cyclic ring is active"..I've never seen this before...could this have been a factor??

Thanks

No, sorry, you "asked for more cyclic than the system could give"
and the Aileron out of range = impact.

Cyclic ring active, means that you wanted the heli to nick or roll so fast that the V-Bar had to give maximum amount of swash tilt, until it hit the cyclic ring, which you have set to prevent binding. So your heli simply could not nick or roll any faster.
This most likely to happen when your collective is near its maximum or minimum, as the V-Bar then uses an even less maximum cyclic swash tilt.

This would also explain the shutdown of the Jive, because:
1. The heli was at (almost) full collective
2. The heli was at full cyclic (the V-Bar was, does not necessarily had to be you)
3. The heli's disc was highly loaded (lot of g's in the loop)

You could not stress a motor more than this.

I'm guessing, you can tell the best yourself if it happened like this.
If it did, you might want to look at performing a loop, cause it does not have to be a very stressful maneuver.

Good luck getting her back in the air.

Thanks for the info...what I actually did was fast forward flight, rolled inverted, quick reversal and punch out, pyroing at the top to inverted to complete a loop when it shut down...so, there were several high pitch, fast reversal all together... I was really suprised, as I've not read of anyone else having shutdowns running the Xera 4530 and the helijive 120...I'm going to cut hole for airflow, and install a Jcooler o nthe H120..hopefully, it'll not happen again..

Mmm, I would imagine that a HeliJive would be able to handle this.
Cutting a hole would be sufficient, maybe a heatsink.
Jcooler is overkill I think, the 7HV is quite heavy already for a 700...
