Default Tareq and Banshee #42

Unedited version of first flight of Tareq and my Banshee. Unfortunately the tail gain was too high due to TX swop to get it to mode 2 for him. second all out 3D flight never happened as the heli got resonance on spool up and beat itself to death!!

Nice! Thanks for posting. I always wondered who'd have the courage to let Tareq fly their Banshee.

I liked the bit in the end where he landed on concrete and a resonance developed, so he did a quick hop over to the grass!

Default Tareq and Banshee #42

What country were you flying in? Is this your heli that had resonance issues previous?

So wait, Tareq can fly in different modes? That is a bit sick if you ask me. Can you say what mode he flew in versus what he normally flies? (Edit, OK now I see...tail gain was high because you had to TX swap. Got it.)

Really too bad he did not get to work it over.

awesome stuff

taking bets , how long till he gets one

try around 50 -55 on tail gain if running Vbar

I noticed he was pulling negative pitch after he landed , not a good idea , needs to spool down its own or that can happen , love his little shift onto the grass

The tail gain has no relation to the chicken dance, it was merely the fact that when I copied the model to another JR XG TX via the SD card, somehow the tail gain that is coupled to flight modes did not work the same on the mode 2 TX. My own fault for NOT checking that part, so the setup was then that the same percentage of gain was used for all flight modes which resulted in the gain being too high for the 2100rpm mode.

I was standing with him and although briefed beforehand he just tried to land on the cement out of habit, I just reminded him to hop onto the grass as we had discussed. I ALWAYS land on grass with 1100rpm HS as this is the only way to prevent the chicken dance on spool down.

The second flight was a tip over on SPOOL UP, NEVER happened before, tail gain was then set as per original TX and ALL settings double checked again. Have flown 83 successful flights with this setup and method of landing. I could spool up to 2200rpm on the ground and NEVER had a single problem, it always happened ONLY during spool down and/or landing on a hard surface.

It still was a pleasure to let the master fly the heli and will gladly do it again next year if I still own it by then!!!!!

i was referring to the over gain during the flight ,i have had severe oscillation on spool up once , it was when i bumped a blade while carrying it and the blades weren't completely pulled out , scared the sht out of me ,after that i always made sure they were right before spool up,
but never had it on landing as i always mini auto to wipe off all head speed before touch down. , hope you get her back up in the air soon , any pics ? or are they too gruesome

Not gruesome at all, it is more the reputation of Banshee that is dented, boom is cracked, blades broken, blade hit CF canopy, no damage, but the Vbar controller got hit underneath the canopy and is broken as well as the circuit board inside.Main shaft is bent but the rest seems OK.
