Will you be selling kits that include the new esc? Looking to purchase a kit in Jan.

hoping a kit will come out in January with motor, esc, and new 10mm blade grips, as well as all the rest of updates...maybe wishful thinking.

I still don't get how this flight was done.

12 minutes with 6S/15T pinion?
How did it get to 2100 RPM in the first place?

Seems like the only way to do that is to totally drain (and kill) the pack + the ESC would come out extra hot and wouldn't live through many such flights.

I'd be curious to know the throttle and pitch curve combination also. Must play a part in the long flight time.

Thanks for the updated link. It's nice to see that there are others on my level and Italian chit-chat is always entertaining.

I'm not using heli for 3D but for FPV and aerial photo so I need to stay cool in flight

If this is a serious information, a minimum of 20% battery power must be available after the 12 minute flight.

Why do you not answer the raised questions:

- which pinion was used for the flight?
- how much battery power was available after the 12 min. flight?

Additional question: was governer mode used? 90, 95 or 100%?

I did some first testflights with my Protos 500 (carbon frame). My intention was to check settings for "long" park flight. Here are my results:

Stock motor
LiPo Battery 2650 30C 6S
Robbe Roxxy, govenor mode used (gas curve 60 on Futaba FF-10)
Head speed 2300
14T Pinion

Flight time in average is 8,5 minutes. Outside temperature was very cold (-1 C / 30.0 F), temperature of battery at start time 21 C / 70.0 F. Remaining battery capacity after 8.5 minutes was 20%. May be, flight time could be increased a little bit at higher outside temperature.

Regards Olaf

Use pinion 12t and rise the throtle. It's not really efficient when you have 60% only!!!

You will see the time difference... and let me know

I know, that 60% is not very efficient. Therefore i start the motor with 75% and switch to 60% just before take off. Nevertheless I ordered a 12T Pinion yesterday and will do additional testing as soon as possible...

... and let us now the progress. Protos is very light so you don't need so high RPM like with any other 500

I like it very much...

I was very disappointed about the bad quality of the kit. But now, after solving all the problems, it is a really good looking helicopter - and very quiet. For me, a flight time of 8,5 minutes is fine - more than i can do with a T-REX 500. But now i'm interested to see, whether it could be enhanced. I don't belive in 12 minutes flight time.

Where do you come from, popokatepetl? What is your Protos 500 setup and experience?

I'm from EU

I also have some issues with the Protos quality which should be improved. But overall I really love it.

My setup:
SAVOX SH-1250MG (swash)
SAVOX SH-1290MG (tail)
Radix 430mm
GyroBot 700
Kontronik JIVE 60+ LV
6S Hyperion G3 2600mAh (35C)
motor MVVS 6,5 cm3 (910KV) but I'll switch it to stronger one 8 cm3(950KV)

...and some infinity hobby CNC upgrades
