Default Flying Season Again - Be Careful!

After a long, cold winter, flying days are here again in western New York. Flew my 450 twice this morning with no issues. But i carelessly let myself get hit not once, but twice today by my Mcpx BL. I should know better.

First time was harmless leg strike over loose pants - I felt nothing.

Later in the day I was not so fortunate. Rotor hit me on the exposed part of my wrist and broke the skin in four places - luckily just skin deep cuts. Repeating, I KNOW better.

Even a micro can bite - glad it didn't nick that vein!

Remember that if you are a cold weather climate flyer and not in practice for outdoor flying, there is an adjustment period every spring. Even if "you know better".

Just don't get hit by the 450, that might mean getting stitches.

I know we haven't had near as rough a winter as some of you folks up north and out west but the wind, rain and dark cloudy days seemed to later forever this winter.

Its 76 F oustside and dead calm here this evening, soon as packs charge I'm fixing to fly the 450 until sunsets.

I haven't seen dead calm here in weeks. Gusts were 29 Saturday and peaked at 35 Sunday. I flew all weekend but really had to watch my P's and Q's.

Yah avoid the bigger blades, ive been hit with my nano cpx a couple times but im super careful with even my mcpx since those blades are spinning fast (16,300 kv motor)

I recently got a V120D02s used from someone. Spun it up in hand to test it and make sure everything was working before flying outside. He did not tighten the blades grips on properly and one of the blades went flying off at the couch.

Lucky I did not get hit! but safety first!
