Newbie Can't Get CP off the Ground
Hi. During the first 10 of my attempted flights, my CP would simply take off, bank hard to the left and crash immediately. After doing some research online to try to fix this, I happened upon instructions to set my Devo 7E to less aggressive settings. I did this. This resulted in the Mini CP not getting off the ground, only grumbling and bumbling along the ground. I reset them to factory, but this didn't change anything. I can only vibrate my CP along the kitchen tile until it almost runs into the cabinets. Can't get it airborne at all.
PLEASE HELP! Sam |

can't take off
There is a way to fix this issue using the TX settings w/o messing with the helicopter itself. First, after the helicopter is bound, put the two blades together side by side. Are they perfectly level with each other or is one higher or lower than the other? If they are level... good. If one blade is higher or lower than the other blade, you need to go into the TX and adjust the settings. Go into the Subtrim section, find PITCH, it should be defaulted to 0. Increase this number or decrease this number until the blades come together perfectly level. You just completed part 1. If your helicopter stilll doesn't take off at this point, go to part 2 below.
Part 2: Go into your pitch curve settings. Make the following changes: L = -20 L1 = 0 L2 = 20 M = 40 L3 = INH L4 = INH H = 60 Try to take off now. |

As another note - for part 1 of Jax's instructions, be sure that the throttle stick on your TX is set for zero pitch before checking the blades against each other.

Still no luck
Thanks for the advice guys. Did all that. Still no joy. Just rumbles along the ground even at 100%. Any other ideas?

Thanks
Also a newbie.... a big THANKS for this thread! Just like the OP I was able to get my superCP dialed in after adjusting my subtrim! I'm still confused a bit by all the options...but learning some. Can anyone shed a light on what gyro setting Is best for beginners? I turned mine up to 50% (from 0%). I'm not sure I noticed any difference? Any other settings a newbie should change to soften up the flight characteristics. I'm coming from 4 channel V911 where I was thinking I was a pretty good pilot, but this superCP has me scrambling!
