Greets Bob!

Out of curiosity, how did that thing where the guy was ripping off your videos and selling them on Ebay turn out? I read the first part of it and was amazed that somebody thought they could get away with something like that. Ever think about doind a dvd compilation and marketing them yourself?

The HUGE amount of people that complained to Ebay and to the seller caused him to pull the videos he was selling. What a chump! Absolutly amazed me that someone would do that.

I was thinking of doing a DVD compilation but I dont have the time to burn DVD's myself and getting them pressed requires a buy of a large amount and up front money spent with no idea how well they will sell! So at this point I would prefer to just give them away
The downloadable ones are really low quality as I had to compress them for bandwidth and space reasons. My original masters are DVD quality. Maybe one day I will take a shot at making DVDs!

Thanks,
Bob

The EASY solution: http://www.customflix.com/Services/D...ndOverview.jsp cost to you $50 they print cut and ship the DVD's then cut you a check monthly.

I'd buy one. Then I might be able to actually watch a few without the phone ringing or some other distraction. I've always said this would be a great job if it wasnt for the customers always wanting something....

Anyway, welcome to the Freak!

Cool I checked that out a litte bit but what I didnt see was what your % of the deal is on a sale? I will poke around that site a little more but they should have some details about pricing, mark up, and profit.

It is not a percentage they charge a flat rate. You charge whatever you want and they take like $8 per. i.e. you sell the DVD for $28 they give you $20 per 1 sold.

Hmm I only was thinking of selling the thing for like $10.... I dont think my videos are that good to get even $19.95! I mean they certainly arent professional or anything..... $9 wont leave me much....

I will have to think about it but what do people think they are worth?

Oh and... I did not intend to turn this into a "help Bob make money" thread! It's not what I am about but if I can sell a few to those that dont have broadband or want DVDs, I am willing.... But I want it to be fair....

Bob

BOB, its not the quality of your performance that they would be paying for , its your knoledge and ability to explains things so everybody can understand. Dont sell yourself short.
I'd buy a DVD quality one just so I dont have to sit at the computer to watch

Ditto on that. Alot of people are cluless of where to begin and even if you have been doing this for a while you will always learn something new.
Go for it and make some DVDs

falconea45,
Thanks and believe it or not I am kind of embarassed...... I will think about putting DVDs together but for now I prefer to just give them away for download! I am sure I am missing an opportunity but I like to teach so for now I will continue doing what I love..... Maybe later.....

Thanks!
Bob
