I used a single 1 7/8" (3mm) from the swash to the grip on my 700/800 logo's

I'm assuming the 690 is running the 2.5mm links (like the 500/600/600se) so lundford doesn't go that small.

Have a look at the car turnbuckles , or give a car shop a call.

That should get you going for a whole lot less

FBL rotors makes some top shelf stuff. I got the ball link pliers , only ones out there for the XX logo 6mm balls. Dang expensive but dang nice.
