new Eflite Mustang 280
What you think about it? I love Eflite plane very well made and don't have much place, at home, in the car and small field too
Its basic kit but its does include the battery 169$+15% canadian tax for the mustang or my lhs still got the Eflite Zero 300 for 119$ its basic kit but with no battery

Almost picked one up, but ended up going a different route. I assume they'd fly well, but haven't seen one yet.
You may also check out MotionRC. I just grabbed an EDF from them, shipping was very quick and I've heard great things about their service. Personally, I'd probably give this one a go over the e-flite, partially because it comes with gear. We have a nice runway at the field, so I'm partial to birds with landing gear. $99 receiver ready. http://www.motionrc.com/fms-p-51-mus...-wingspan-pnp/

I hear ya, just throwing another option out there.
I'm between that FMS and the Freewing Ultimate Sport Bipe myself since I already have a few extra RX's kicking around. I'm sure the e-flite flies great, just not a fan of hand launch / belly landing myself, but that's just personal preference... Very interested to hear your thoughts of you snag one.

I like E-Flite/Parkzone products and that one is a stinker from all of the reports I have heard. The motor falls apart and some other major issues were reported from the first batch. If the bugs get worked out I will buy one myself, but I am on the sidelines until then.

Don't do it, man! My buddy had that Zero and it is CRAP! It's badly underpowered and has at least one very poor design feature in the way the elevators are put together. The finish on the model was good but it flew poorly (I saw in person twice) and was very fragile.

Has anyone flown the 280 Mustang? HH had them on sale for $129 and I picked one up. I'm going to maiden it this afternoon, but haven't seen much chatter about it.

If it had LG I would have by now. I did fly a buddie's Inverza 280 and was truly surprised by how it felt in the air. It looks and feels like a bigger plane once its in the air and is just big enough that it doesn't need AS3X.
Clearly different flying airframes, but if the performance of the Inverza is any indication at all, you're going to like it a lot. Only thing stopping me from grabbing an Inverza is time of year. I'll likely pick one up come spring. Its a great size to toss in with a few helis... Post back what you think once you get her in the air!

Well, she seemed to be flying fine, until I stalled it, and it nose-dived into the ground. The fuselage is pretty weak over the wing and broke into 3 pieces. I spent the afternoon gluing and stapling the pieces back together. It's much more sturdy now. Once I balance the new prop, I'm going to give it another shot.

Take two. And I managed to get two flights out of her this time. I was in a left bank when she suddenly rolled to the right and I had no control. I was on the other side of the field, so I think I may have flown out of range? . My transmitter was still showing 6.2V though. I've gone as low as 5.4V before, but now I'm using those Lithium AA batteries. Maybe they stop pumping current at a higher voltage?
Anyway, I only damaged the foam around the motor mount, so a little more pinning and stapling, and she'll be ready for her next crash, er, flight. I've taken to calling this plane Plankenstein, due to all the staples.
