Default New Flybarless 500 in AZ

Here are the pics of the Flybarless 500 running on 7s. As you can see we have an Sk-360 with a Spartan taking care of the tail. This is the culmination of about a week's work between the Mad Scientist and Myself.

Love your 500 flybarless. I have not seen your kind of conversion of the head before... Does it fly well? You are using only two of the four balls on the swash...

I just converted my 500 to flybarless yesterday. Instead of drilling a hole in the washoutblock to pin it to the main shaft, I flipped the washoutblock upsidedown and used an extra main shaft collar to secure it. Swash is moving freely and looks good.

Can post a pic if anyone is interested...

My electronics look not so nice compared to yours, but I crash frequently, so I want everything easy to take apart and put together.

The Mad Scientist chose to use that bolt because he needed to be able to torque that bolt down and with a set screw only being in 1.5mm it wasn't a very good option. So he opted for the 2.5mm bolt.

The electronics are individually loomed to allow for ease of repairs.

So far this heli is dialed in. It is very stable yet, snappy enough for 3d.

The Mad Scientist designed this particular head to allow for greater resolution than with a direct link to the swash as well as removing some of the load off the nylon geared 9650's.

In response to the complaint regarding the bolt, we revised the design and went with a larger bolt size which allowed us to use a 2.0mm wrench on the set screw.

Now That Looks Groovy !

all it needed was a SS grub screw.

Glad you guys like the setup. So far it has been working out well, we have been experimenting with KBDD head dampners and they seem to be working out well.

I like the mods that you did with your 600, We have a 600e lying around here that we're thinking about stretching and going flybarless with, but we just aquired a Logo 600 3d that is flybarless, and we're doing a comparison of SK360 with Vbar.

So far the SK360 is more user friendly as far as setup goes, but the Vbar has more options.

hi caotri and/or DJ NEX

do you mind sharing how you've modified the mixing arms on the trex 600 washout base in detail? how did you mount the arms going to the swashplate?

thanks... Marcel

As you can see on the First page, the pins on the head were cut off and the washout block was drilled and tapped so that set screws could hold the washout block in place. It may seem tricky, but it is a very simple mod and can be completed with all Align parts.

okay... then this is different with the t600 where the lower metal mixing arms have the A-arm link to the swashplate on the SHORTER side of the metal arm.

@caotri.... any insights on that ?
