Shipping helis to an event
I would appreciate hearing from those that have shipped their helis to an event, what kind of containers have proved to be most effective in terms of protecting the helis and being cost effective. I'm thinking of shipping to IRCHA this summer. TIA, Andy

All the heli pieces were strapped down to the base piece, that was dropped in the box, then the other pieces of Luan were slid into place. The box was then filled with anti-static peanuts and a final piece of Luan placed on top before closing the box. Makes the weight a bit more, but protects from crushing and penetration damage. I shipped FedEx overnight and made sure the insurance covered the value of the heli. I've used this setup to ship several times and so far it's held up well.
