Default Help to set curves for T-Rex 450 Flybar

Hello

I am a picking up my 450 Flybar tomorrow
I need help setting my pitch and cyclic curves please, I am a beginner at helicopters, I have never done this considering I only have a Blade 230 S and it is RTF

For the throttle curves I was thinking about:

Idle Up 1

100
70
37
0
37
70
100

Idle Up 2

100
83
50
0
50
83
100

Could you help me please?

This link to a PDF manual is for a 450 Sport V2 flybar Align. May be similar to your helicopter. Check out page 20. I'd start with those curves.

If you need help programing your transmitter, that is a different question. Which transmitter do you have?

Hey,

I have a DXe transmitter. With the DXe transmitter you need a programming cable to create a new "slot" for an other model you'd like to fly with the DXe. If you have a Tx to audio cable, you can then transfer the info to the DXe programming app, and easily switch between your models via Bluetooth.
I don't have that so if, say, I fly my 230 S, then want to fly the 450, I will have to plug the DXe into the computer to switch between the two models.

What I am trying to do here is find how to program my transmitter for the 450 in particular (so that my 230 S won't have the same curves and settings).

I don't know if I am clear, I hope so! 🙂

You are going very drastic in your rpms. Also, in idle up you should never ever have a zero. You're motor will die and then start up again when you go inverted.

Try this
Normal
0-80-80-80-80
Idle up 1
90-80-70-80-90
Idle up 2
100-90-80-90-100

Try not to have big huge jumps in your rpm's. The heli will shoot up. I try not to have more than a 15 percent jump in throttle.

I'm not familiar with the DXe, maybe someone else will chime in here.

@newbheliusr, If the model is going to be spooled up in normal mode for lack of a soft start governor would it be better to make the second point 40 to allow a bit more control?

If the ESC has soft start and no governor then I maybe wouldn't bother with a traditional normal type curve.

If the ESC has a governor then all curves would be straight lines.

My approach for some time now has been to move collective to near mid stick or a little negative pitch on blades to remove load and then just flick out of throttle hold.

Yeah, 40 probably sounds better. But definitely not 0 throttle at mid stick. That's a crash.

Okay, that sounds absolutely logical newbheliusr. Thanks for the info, I feel like every day on this forum I learn something new 😅
Alright, I will try those throttle curves when I get the helicopter tomorrow.

Thanks a lot for your answers guys. For the rest of the settings I will use the helicopter manual's recommended settings.

If you want, feel free to PM me if you have any questions. I am by far not the gospel for rc helicopters. But I can get you started. If not, that's ok too.
